If Sony could add anything (hardware functionality/software programme/ accessory - whatever) to current and future Clies - what would you ideal add-on be?

A little tiny joystick like the Zire 71.

A Clie' that is MP3 friendly.

A smaller clamshell design. (Oh no, here come the non-clamshell VG posts.) :D

An eye killing 640x480 screen. And yes this screen would be smaller then the current clamshells. So even more eye strain.

Pez dispenser.

Little tiny robotic arm that I can control with the little tiny joystic.

The same level of graphics power as a Playstation 1, or better.

Mac support from SONY right out of the box.

And many more things which I will ramble about later.

Pez dispenser.I like the first one. That little joystick is REALLY cute! (My hat's off to Palm for doing something 'different'!)

The second, I'll say NO NO A THOUSAND TIMES NO! Why, you ask??? Well. If my Clie dispensed candy, then my kids (or Sig Other) would want to touch it . . . Nooooooot gonna happen! ;)

:D

Darn, I've always wanted a magnesium Pez dispenser.

The jostic reminds me of the game watches from the eightis that had little joysticks on them.

Ironically, I consider the TG50 nearly perfect... just add a CF slot and double the memory in the same form-factor.

1) hi-res+ in a smaller form factor (it can be done, look at Garmin)
2) better battery
3) Built-in wifi and bluetooth with easy turn off and on to save on battery power
4) 32 or 64 MB of memory (at which point if they need a few meg for heap space, it won't be as big of a deal)
5) NR/NX/NZ style buttons. Best hard buttons that sony has made. A 5-way navigator perhaps instead of up and down buttons, but not really all that necessary with the jog dial.

Accessories
1) TV tuner MS. *drool*

64MB RAM
320x480 in TG LxWxD with...

MS slot replaced with CF (na-ga-doit)

and...

Integrated "virtual" keyboard like the one that projects the keyboard onto a flat surface.

I've actually got a Pez Dispenser on my NX70V. Detailed instructions on how to do this highly techincal modification is listed below:

Parts you need.

Pez Dispenser, prefer the Darth Maul one as this servces to purposes. Scares the hell out of unsuspecting kids and actually gives out Pez.

Pez candy

Screwdriver

Chisel

Hammer

Magnafying Glass

Oxy Welder

Bottle of Scotch

Sticky Tape.

How to do it !

Throw everything in the bin apart from the Pez Dispenser, Pez candy, Bottle of Scotch and Sticky Tape.

Put the candy in the dispenser

Drink the Scotch in one hit.

Grab the fully loaded dispenser and slap it against the nx at the same time wrapping the sticky tape around it and the nx EXACTLY 35.5 times

When finished put the modified nx down on the floor EXACTLY 1.5 meters away from you.

Fall down in a heap and take a nap.

Wake up and take a pez.

PRESTO !

Built-in radio. A simple radio that works- should not be a big deal.

Why do you all want MS accessories? Would you be willing to spend $100 on an MS satellite radio, another $100 for MS TV tuner etc. Maybe for a TV tuner, but i wouldn't pay Sony's premium for such an add-on. I think that of all devices that can be combined into a PDA, a simple working AM/FM radio should not take so long to think of.

I think that your way will work, let me try it this weekend with just the Scotch and nothing else. :D

Darth Maul is groovy. But I personally think that he could lighten up on the make up. But he would work well with the Clie' since like SONY, he is also evil.:)
