New NX status bar

I just uploaded a new status bar I came up with to the skins section. It is a combination of a number of other skins for the NR, that I really liked. Hope you enjoy. =)

How do you get this to work?

The easiest way is using PhotoSkin (available at PalmGear). Installing & doing a soft reset will also do it. It will require a warm reset to delete though . . .

How do you delete it with a warm reset?

For that matter, what is a warm reset? (I'm familiar with a soft/hard reset, but not a warm reset)

Hold up while reseting or somethign like that, it disables certian files from launching at the OS reboot, on my NR, the VG area is low-res and stuff like that.

Spiral is right. To do a warm reset, you hold the up button down until the Palm OS logo displays. It's the Palm equivalent of Windows safe mode.

Is it 16 bit colors ?
Why don't you post also the original status bar in order to chenge between them if I want ?

This skin is for the NX, and was 'created' from NR skins. The NR skins do not work on the NX, so they wouldn't do you any good.

In case you are using an NR, go HERE (http://forums.pdabuzz.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=38956&highlight=status+bar+skin) to download the original NR skin. The battery/datebook icon came from a NX only skin that is posted in the skin files.

I've also done this in all black background w/ color icons. I'll be posting it in the next day or 2

You have me convinced to play with a "new" skin on my PDA - I don't understand all this talk about "skins" until I actually try it - hopefully my PDA doesn't go Ka-Boom!

re: the warm reset (for newbies like me)
After the warm reset, the VG area is disabled. To access the launcher, press ctrl-h on the keyboard. It may appear slightly garbled, but it is navigable. Go to ClieFiles and delete the skin. Then soft-reset. It helps to have the launcher already set to the right group before the warm reset.

Another way to get to CLieFiles EASILY after a warm reset, is (before you do the reset) map one of your hard buttons to the ClieFiles app (easily done through Prefs). Then you can test a couple of different skins/bars and more easily unload them.
The hard buttons work fine even though the VG area is disabled.

I found this somewhere on ClieSource, (I think before the crash)so I can't take credit for this hint myself.
