Did I ruin my unit?

I recently did a very dumb thing. I plugged my charge cable into the data slot on my UX50. Now the battery will charge, but it won't hold the charge. Did I ruin the unit, or did I blow the battery circuitry? I have a replacement battery, but am unsure how to replace it. I removed the door that holds the battery in the unit, but can't get it out. Do I need to take the bottom off the unit to replace the battery?

I dunno if you have wrecked the unit, but when I changed the battery in my UX50 I had to take the back off. You can do it with screwdrivers for glasses, just take it slow and have a look at pics from some of the battery mod threads to see the speaker wire which you need to be a bit careful of when you open it up.
