On my PC at work intellisync stopped working to sync my Palm TX with Lotus Notes after some security updates. So I am currently looking for alternatives. Since syncinc between Lotus Notes and my Nokia mobile phone still works sufficiently I had the following idea:

Is there any posibility to sync the date book and contacts between a nokia mobile phone (with bluetooth or IR) and a Palm TX directly without syncing via a PC?

You can certainly transfer individual contacts and calendar entries between the Nokia and the TX, but I don't think you can do a category or other group. Does the Nokia have an IR port? They seem to be rare nowadays. IR or BT should work.

I'm surprised you're having problems with Intellisync. Have you tried reconfiguring it?

I haven't tried this, but if you archive your Lotus Notes database, I think MS Outlook will read them. Perhaps you could sync with Outlook?

Syncing a palm with a cell phone has only been possible as long as you were only talking about contacts stored on the SIM card (which holds only name+number). The tool is called "GSMTool" and has not been updated since 2002. Thereīs another called "funBook" with the same restriction.
This has been a long demanded project for some software developers, but - just like there is no real good SMS application - it just doesnīt seem to be something a developer would think about. Maybe (phone) formats are too complicated or change every so often or whatever...

Other than that you are only able to beam a contact or send it via BT, but thatīs not exactly syncing. Closest you can get is (1) delete whole address book on phone, (2) beam the whole stuff over using BeamWorks or alike. This is going to be a hassle with a Nokia since recent Nokia phones donīt have an "import" function which means they donīt understand more than one vCard record beamed over to them (Siemens or SE do have such a function).

You may sync using another PC software, though, i.e. "MobileMaster" or others. I dunno if MobileMaster directly reads LotusNotes records, but it does read a lot a contact databases like PalmDesktop, Outlook, TheBat, etc.pp.

Thanks for the hints!
As described I am not interested into transfer of single vCards but in real syncing of contacts and especialy of claendar items.

@juggernaut#2: As I found "MobileMaster" can only sync to mobile phones, not to Palms. Is this correct or did I get something wrong? (Syncing the phone workes, but I have problems syncing Lotus Notes to a Palm TX.)

Are there any other solutions than Intellisync to sync Lotus Notes to Palm?

EasySync also works with Lotus Notes and Palms.

No, youīre right, MobileMaster only syncs phones, not palms. It could just sync to the palm desktop or alike, but in order to get it into a palm you still have to sync that palm.
