I'm considering taking some classes here at my work, and at my local community college, to learn some of the programming languages that are associated with the Palm OS (C, C++, Java, etc...) but I'd also like to know if there are any decent freeware development tools that I can try out on my own. I remember there was one program called PDAToolbox if I recall right. Any suggestions as for other programs? The type of programs I'm interested in learning how to write are business related applications and networking related applications for IT management.

I believe the most commonly used development software is CodeWarrior for PalmOS. It's made by Metroworks, I believe. You might want to review the old threads in the developer forum, I'm sure there's some good info to be had there.
