I must be missing something...

I can't for the life of me figure out what use Picsel viewer provides. In order to make use of it, you must put your Clie in Import mode, copy the files to the MS, disconnect, and locate the files through Picsel viewer. The capability is completely un-integrated with the rest of the software in the system:

ClieMail - Attachments are NOT downloaded and viewable from ClieMail within Picsel Viewer (Outlook sync).
Hotsync - You cannot drag a PDF, .doc, or .xls file to the Installer tool and have it copied to the memory stick for viewing within Picsel.
FileLink - Unimplemented by any application (???).
All 3rd Party Mail applications - They either leave the attachments on Outlook, or want to convert them to thier proprietary format for viewing/edititng in their proprietary applications.

What gives?

For people with an internet connections it is probabl usefull, but I think you're right, for sending your desktop documents to the palm, there are better alternatives

Beyond that, there is the fact that most documents made for viewing on a desktop computer are not easy to see on a low-res (by that I mean even "high-res") palm screen. I think the options that reformat documents to the screen are probably better overall.

It sure beats the hell out of Adobe for viewing PDFs on the Palm, the other alternative is RepliGo which has to convert the docs first.

Downloading native documents is where Picsel Viewer shines!

Wasn't Picsel Viewer one of the big selling points for the NZ90?

Very handy for PDFs and saved webpages in LANDSCAPE.... Big learning curve on command strokes. I still only remember about half of em...:)
