Hey guys,
I tried to download the ACDA 1.4 file and my pc says it doesn't recognize the long file names the program contains. Anyone know how to help me out with this problem? Also, if anyone else has it, does it really let you listen to mp3s while you are on another application?

If you want to hear your music while in other applications, then you can enable background play in the audio player under options-prefrences.

I'm not sure what you mean by not recognizing long file names, but my experience with ACDA is that it comes in a compressed .lzh file. I'm not sure about WinZIP but I use WinRAR and it opens the file no problem. After that a double click on the .prc file is enough to install it.
Btw, you do know that ACDA only works if you have LookDA installed right?

You're right Jake but ACDA allows one extra thing- to control your music playback no matter what application you're in (except games i think where your playback is suspended), with just a tap beside your menu button.
Cheers.

I had the same problem as you. My PC could not read the .lzh file. I clicked on the developer's web-site and downloaded the Audio Control DA from there (the site is in Japanese - but the files to download are in English).
Then I installed it and could not get it to work. As Harbx says, you need something to read the DAs. There is a file in the Hacks/DAs section.
I also use the EasyLaunch Hack and was able to set things up using that. I like Audio Control. I am finding it useful.

1) Winzip will open .izh files, but you have to install a plugin to do so and the file has to be close to your root directory.
2) V1.4 of ACDA is an older version. I am using V1.5, which I'm sure I found somewhere as a .zip file. Try the Yahoo Clie user group(link on front page of this site).
3) I use ACDA and I don't even know what LookDA is, so I'm sure it isn't required.
4) ACDA is a great little app for the reasons others have stated. Highly recommended. You will need a DA Launcher app. I use SlowLaunch (freeware on Palmgear)
Check LaunchPlug.com (http://www.launchplug.com/AudioControlDA.html) for more detail and tutorial of ACDA. I think this is the best DA I know so far.
I use it a lot , especially when I'm on the go. It by-passes the security, so you can listen to MP3 quickly w/o the need to enter the security codes when you turn on the Clie for just to listen to MP3. All I need to do is to launch it with a finger swipe or tap on certain location on graffiti area (set this up via EasyLaunch or DA Launcher). The ACDA window pops up over the System Lockout screen. Then press Address button to play the MP3. Use the up or down button to adjust the volume. use the ToDo button to select which MP3 to listen to. I hardly use the button on the screen to control MP3 (they are just too small and require stylus to operate them). Neither I use AudioPlayer any more.

http://www.launchplug.com/AudioControlDA.html is the direct link to the tutorial, if you want to learn more about how the program works and what the buttons do. I have a direct link in there to the 1.5 version download as well, so it should be pretty easy to get the newest one installed and working for you on your PDA.
Cheers.
