OK, I'm posting this here becaus e you guys are obviously better at support than Iambic :P

Yesterday Agendus 11 stopped accessing the web via any of its built in connectivity apps. I can't get weather, quotes or history (whoopee) but more importantly I can't get Power Search 411 info, which is a huge help while travelling.

Also Auto-update fails as well.

All other applications that access the web on my TX can get out and grab info, so it isn't the connection settings. Agendus launched the appropriate connection and 'connects' but can't get anything into itself.

Is there some preference file I could delete or something in Agendus that determines this?

Thanks.

Try going to Agendus Preferences -> Connection and change "timeout setting" to medium. If it works you might then toggle it back to "short" as it could have just hung. If this doesn't help, try installing again over top of current install and see if that works.

Nope that didn't work, installing it over the old version didn't help either. Can you access the web content wellsjs? Others on the Iambic forums are having the same problem. Maybe it is the Iambic server.

The service is back up. It would be nice to have some proper error message indicating thier servers are down instead of just not retreiving info though.

Sometimes, as in yesterday's case, iambic servers were the reason. Other times it may be another Internet hop between their servers and you. So even if they provided a message, it would be hit and miss. Glad you're back in business! ;)

But if it is their servers, then they should provide a message. And if not, if it is some other connectivity issue, Agendus should still provide a reasonable error message. This is called 'error handling' and something all developers should work to implement effectively. There really isn't any excuse for the lack of messages. They are a commercial company, not a freeware developer. Agendus is FULL of bugs, not just small nusiances but actually full of crash bugs, easily reproducible P1 bugs that should never make it into a realease. We are all still beta testers IMO.

This gets back to my love/hate relationship with Agendus
:p I really love all the features of the application but unfortunately too often it crashes when I attempt to use them. I really wouldn't recommend Agendus to anyone not ready to deal with the instability. I really wish they would just disable some features until they get the bugs out so we end users don't try and use these unstable features.
