View Full Version : Aggression

Has anybody tried this game yet?  It looks amazing, but according to the website it is not yet for OS-5.  Can't wait for it to be made because it looks very impressive, especially with the cinema view.

Forgot to post the address:

Looks a little scary though...1.23 MB for the hi-res+ version and can't be played from the card.  Oh well, if it is good, I guess it is worth it.

Just use powerrun to play from the card :). OS5 Clie compatible version coming soon according to the read-me file.

Currently, Aggression is supported on all color PalmOS devices (including the Tungsten) *EXCEPT* for Sony Clies running Palm OS 5, e.g. the NX-70. (The NR-70 works perfectly as do all color CLIEs running Palm OS 4.)

We apologize for the temporary inconvenience and are working to regain Sony OS 5 support with the very next minor release. We anticiapate supporting all black and white Palms with the next major release.

If you have a non color Palm or a Sony Clie running
Palm OS 5 and would like to be notified AS SOON AS your device is supported, send an email to info@blitgames.com
and include your Palm model. Your email address will ONLY be used to notify you when your Palm is supported.

Just purchased the game. Very nice. I have an NR70V and I have to say that this game really takes advantage of the screen real estate. Great graphics and definitely a recommended buy for those with an NR-series Clie (and an NX- and NZ-series Clies once support for those devices is restored).

Finally!!! been waiting for some game to us the hires+ horizontally :p Just downloaded the demo and took a quick look on my NR, beautiful! Can't wait to try it fully tonight :)

This is a great game! Really makes full use of the NR screen real estate. I did hit one bug where the computer was placing armies and instead of the number of armies going down, it just kept going up!! He had hundreds of armies placed before I finally was able to break out of the game. But otherwise, haven't had a problem and am running it using PIDirect.

volcanopele
04-30-2003, 12:16 PM
What AI level were you using? I don't find that bug playing against beginner.

The only bug I notice is that, and I will admit this, I like to have the Palm play itself. I don't know it just interesting to have that running while typing a paper to see who wins. I did that a lot with WorldWar. However, with Aggression and I try that with the Advanced AI, the Palm locks up.

Aggression is running on my system with the main file in /Palm/Launcher and the graphics file running using PiDirect.

MaryJoS

I was at medium level. I did send it in and they had one other report of it (although with the army numbers going into the negatives!) but it seems really rare. Hopefully with the extra information I gave they will be able to track it down. It wasn't a big deal to me since it happened during setup and once I was able to get out of the game, I just started a new one.

yorrick
04-30-2003, 06:08 PM
I just loaded it up and tried to play it. The program either locked up or crashed (soft reset) on me three or four times. The graphics is nice, but not very intuitive.

If you are worried about the size of the file or stability, Zagware has another game the SAME as this called "World War" on this site : http://www.zagware.com/worldwar.htm
It isn't updated very often, but it's the gameplay (and less the graphics) that keeps you hooked.

volcanopele
04-30-2003, 06:26 PM
have you sent them a bug report, yorrick? Perhaps they can get the issues you had resolved.

I agree, World War is pretty good and is an okay alternative. However, with this game out, it is really hard for me to play World War instead of Aggression. And besides, the file size is of no concern with PiDirect.

MaryJoS

This game is much nicer than World War, at least in High res+, you don't have to keep zooming in on individual continents.

Aggression is essentially a Risk clone, but a VERY nice clone :)

Oh I emailed the Support people at Blitgames about the advanced AI issue. I got a pretty detailed reply within an hour. The issue will be fixed in the next update which should be out in a few days.

I downloaded it and put it on the MS for storage, but tried to run it from there just to see what it would do.

When I clicked the main PRC file, it gave an error message and said it needed to be copied to the handheld to run. But when I clicked on the second ap (the Aggressionpart2 file) it ran fine!

I am using the Cinema version for part 2. Anyone else try this?

...by the way, I am using LauncherX to launch it, if that makes a difference...

hmm, that's interesting. And the game runs like it should? where do you have the main file?

workerofwood

I haven't played it enough to see if there are any bugs but it appears to be running correctly from the Launcher folder. Display looks right menus operate, virtual buttons work...

volcanopele
05-01-2003, 12:32 PM
I'll have to give that a try in ZLauncher to see if that works there. but it still sounds like the main file has to be in RAM for it to run as you describe.

workerofwood
05-01-2003, 12:39 PM
I don't know if it is copying over to RAM by itself to run, but it is not there when I quit the game, and both files are located on the MS in the Launcher folder.

workerofwood
05-01-2003, 12:41 PM
So far the only problem I can find is that the icon for the second PRC does not display properly

volcanopele
05-01-2003, 12:42 PM
well, I guess all I can say is cool. I can't get it do that on my Clie. Well, the PiDirect solution also works (put the main file in /Palm/Launcher and the larger file in the PiDirect directory).

volcanopele
05-04-2003, 04:27 PM
I don't know. I guess the AI is smarter but in 1.06 it doesn't work. It freezes when it gets to place its men for the first time after pre-game fortification. The game isn't frozen because I can tap on the menu and application silkscreen buttons and they work.

ClieMarty
05-04-2003, 11:04 PM
Well, did not encounter any freeze. Did a game till I got defeated and could then watch the several computer opponents to sort it out (took quite a while). So you may probably look for the 1.07 release.

The dev sent me the NX beta also. I haven't had much time to get into it but i fooled around with it a bit and it looks incredible. I especially like the fact that it is played in landscape mode. It is quite a bit more complicated to play than world war. guess i will have to read the instruction manual.

on the handango page it says the final NX version will be out in a week (posted on 4/25)

Just wanted you folks to know that BLiT Games will begin occasionally responding to unanswered questions posted in the forum.

We have posted some answers on an alternate thread,

http://www.cliesource.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=194466#post194466

There doesn't seem to be many outstanding issues on this thread, yet.

I'll just make some quick comments:
-> Yes, tapping on the Part2 file lets you run Aggression from the card.
-> Dynamic compression is coming to Aggression which will reduce the file size.
-> If the interface to Aggression appears complex, remember that all that stuff is just optional (faster) ways to do the same thing. If you can tap on a source country, tap on a destination, and tap on DONE you can play a full game of Aggression.

Has anyone noticed how much battery playing a game of aggression takes away? Now I'm not sure but there are two possible reasons I can see....
1) The computation required for the AI is so vast that it stretches the power of the little Palm to the MAX
2) I'm so addicted my games take about 2 hours!

Anyone else notice this?

Deaton

I actually hadn't noticed an increased battery drain but I'll keep an eye on mine and see how it does...

volcanopele
05-13-2003, 11:49 AM
nearly all graphics intensive games (hi-res and hi-res+) are battery intensive. Howver, I find Aggression to be not as bad as a few other games I have like Scrabble when it comes to battery drain. I generally don't notice the battery drain on most two-player games because for the most part I am playing them at home while watching TV with my housemates. None of us own actual physical board games so we just play what I have on my clie. If I notice I am low on battery power, I just get my AC adapter and hook it up.

eric2002
05-13-2003, 03:09 PM
i have noticed a battery drain also, but this may be due to my addiction of the game and not being able to put it down... two-three hours straight playing at a time!!!!!

volcanopele
05-13-2003, 03:35 PM
yeah, having the clie for 2-3 hours at a time doing anything, especially doing something graphics intensive will drain your batteries quite a bit

Our current policy is that we do not allow advanced AI play on the trial version.

While we currently make the trial version remarkably close to the commercial product, it does not contain all of the features. (We feel that you have to reward people somewhat for buying the real thing.)

We may reconsider this stance in the future.

In addition to the addictive nature of the game, I noticed that auto-off doesn't work while in the game.  If I set my clie (NR-70V) down for several minutes and pick it back up, the screen is still on.  However if I touch the screen or jog dial, etc. the device turns off -- it seems that the auto-off timer works, but the game won't recognize the command until it receives some kind of input event.  Has anyone else encountered this?

By the way, does the AI never attack 'neutral' countries?  They seem to be very useful at blocking off enemies, since the AI doesn't attack them and you don't have to protect any borders with neutral countries.

Perhaps they are imploying the same strategy you are, why attack the neutral countries when you have enemies to attack.

One odd thing I noticed about the AI is that it only seems to make one attack per turn. This isn't a problem when I play against 5 AI players but it does make playing against a single or a couple of AI players fairly easy. Or maybe I should just stop playing against one or two opponents ;)

Bit more feedback from me for the BliT boys....

1) Whenever I start the game again, the help is default to ON. I think it would be better to have it remember that I turned it OFF.
2) When you go back to the new game screen after a game, it always defaults as "Initial Screens" ticked. Again, I would prefer this to be remembered as OFF.

Little things sure, but these to clicks evertime time I play (which is alot these days) get's a little boring you know....

Great news, everybody. Release 1.08 is out and the upgrades to the AI are fantastic. It is much harder to defeat the advanced opponants now, for example.

Another suggestion for Aggression. I've now been playing for a couple of weeks now and it's getting easier for me (win v Advanced AI in 35 moves - so I can't wait for the improved AI). What about some way of keeping track of how well you're doing i.e. the number of moves it takes to win. Most other games have high score tables, why not aggression?

MeganEC
05-24-2003, 03:10 PM
I have been having trouble getting Aggression to run from the card, and after several e-mails with BLit support, we've come to the conclusion that it's something singular to me and my Clie... I have no p[robem with that - these guys really worked hard, wracking their brains trying to get me figured out... Anyway, I just wanted to post somewhere public and say that not only is the game great, but so is the team that put it together!

BLiT
05-29-2003, 01:53 PM
Don't give up, Megan. When you have the strength again, we'll continue to try to get Aggression to run from your card.

As for the feature requests on this forum, you'll be happy to know that they'll all be answered soon. Version 1.09 will be out in a couple of weeks.

As for the numb legs issue, the current work around is to make sure your battery is only charged 25% before playing the game. In the future, we may implement a "thigh saver" feature that goes off every 30 minutes and asks you to jiggle your legs for 10 seconds before the game can continue. :)

It is very easy to run Aggression from a memory stick.

All you have to do is make sure you are running the normal Clie Launcher/Desktop, and then just tap on it.

However, If you are running a third party launcher like Z Launcher or Launcher X, simply exit that launcher and then launch Aggression. These programs simply do not emulate enough of the PalmOS file system to work well with Aggression. (They seem to ignore the bundle bits, the hidden bits, the Creator ID, and some like Launcher X can't even read the PDB correctly.)

Specialized card launcher programs, like PiDirect or Teal Alias work great, too, but again, not always from third party launchers.

If you MUST use an incompatible third party launcher and really don't want the extra 2 taps to exit it, then the only way we have found so far that works is to keep the Part2 file in RAM and the rest can stay on the launcher. This issue should become moot as soon as we unify to a one file package.

BLiT Games is trying to work with these third party launcher companies to make their products more compatible with the PalmOS, but ultimately we only have limited control over other people's products.

hi,

while I was playing aggression v1.8 I encounter a couple of issues...

well the most significant one .. if I won the game no auction was undertaken .. the screen remains the same, only a tiny text upper you won after 53 rounds and nothing else .. if I tap menu buton => there are options new game, resume game ..
it is normal ? is there any way entry a high score table or so ?

and the opposite, if I lost .. the game continues until some "computer" player wins the game, what takes ages .. it's that also normal ?

otherwise the game is great, it remembrs me the time I was hard core risk player :-) and the graphics are stunning !
well maybe the manu isn't really palm os like .. but i really don't mind :o)

volcanopele
06-08-2003, 03:41 PM
yeah, that is normal. Actually, I prefer to see which computer player will. Kinda interesting. I would be disappointed if the game just ended when I lose. If you want to start a new game, you can just click on the menu button and select "New Game"

A high score table you be interesting, but how would that be set up? There are so many combinations with which to play. The number of turns it takes to beat one beginner player is very different from beating 5 adavanced opponents.

As far as the menu not being "PalmOS" like, well, it is nice to have a game that changes things up a bit just as long as every program doesn't try the same thing :)

well, but from my point of view (as a conqueror :o) it's kinda uselles to wacht which of my oponets take the world over .. I was kinda card core stratgic games player on pc back in early '90 but I NEVER saw a strateg game that contiued after the player lost .. it's kind weird ..

A high score table you be interesting, but how would that be set up? There are so many combinations with which to play. The number of turns it takes to beat one beginner player is very different from beating 5 adavanced opponents.

hm but a some algorithm for hi score could be implemented ..
e.g. like in civilisation and other strategic games is ..
your rating could depend on many things and IMO it can't be that much difficult to incorporate this feature into the game ..

As far as the menu not being "PalmOS" like, well, it is nice to have a game that changes things up a bit just as long as every program doesn't try the same thing :)

I think we have the same opinion on that :o)
btw. I experienced it for the first time with pocket link, but there was an option swiching back to "native" palm os look ..

btw. I was about to purchase the game over palmgear, but they have broken system or so and it didn't allow me to register on palmgear and buy the aggression directly :-S
and on the handgo is the price already at $20.. whereas on palmgear is still for $12, what is definitely an acceptable price ..
but I would really love to see the above mentioned features in the future release .. because withou hi-score table it makes the game a bit pathetic .. at least after a while .. the only exception is playing it with some colleagues .. but in that case is better to use a "hard copy" :o) af risk ..

Just to address a few questions so far...

1.09:
High score ... yes
Victory screen ... yes
*Selectible option to allow computers to finish after you die ... yes
Release date: This month

*Some Aggression features come and go -> we had end on human death until about 1.05. We change things based on user feedback. So keep telling us what you want.

Also, I'd like to mention that Megalauncher is a third party launcher that DOES work with Aggression. Unfortunately, Launcher X is the worst as far as compatibility goes.

I should also note that the latest ZLauncher beta now has a feature that allows you to launch a program and any of its associated databases from the card (a la PowerRun). This allows the program and the graphics file to be copied to RAM to run. The only problem I am having is that when I use the home button in Aggression (I have an NR70V BTW), the program exits, then copies back to RAM, and runs again. Only by pressing Cancel on the copy dialog do I get back to ZLauncher. This happens with other hi-res+ games that use the entire screen and have their own home button (Billiards, Bump Attack, and Pocket Aquarium, but not TableTennis3D). I thought you all should be aware of that as well.

On the issue of letting the computer play out the game, I actually like to watch them finish out the game. I was never a huge Risk player though I enjoyed playing it when I did, and watching the computer play does help in learning what I did wrong if I lose and how to improve my strategy.

Love this game and I'm glad I picked it up. A couple of notes to make though.
1) I'd like to see a delay option for the computers turns, to easier see where they're building up and attacking
2) I'm looking forward to a high score and victory screen.
3) Are there plans to increase the advanced AI? I can now beat a full grouping on advanced difficulty.
4) Australia is currently too easy to control and block off, maybe there should be another way to attack.
Other than that I like it and keep it coming

Aggression is a great game...intuitive and addictive as h@#$! Hopefully we'll see an improved AI! It's become too easy to beat the game in under 50 turns! Looking forward to 1.09. Also, thanks go out to the ZZtechs crew for the latest enhancement to ZLauncher, enabling gameplay and full database storage from the memory stick! Plenty O' Space for more games now!

Great suggestion. Their moves are a blur and you have to really scrutinize the screen to see what's happened. I got blindsided a couple of times when I failed to notice a big build up next to one of my weaker holdings.

I can totaly agree, the game is pretty much easy, my personal record turning the world over in 10 turns, screen shot hack doesn't work :-( so I can't provide you with some evidence
but besides that a great game (but it's still better playing a real risk game :o)

Liar! :D
That's pretty impressive I can usually do around the 60 turn mark.
One simple thing that would make the AI a bit harder would be for it to attack more than once a turn.

We just found a customer who was able to run Aggression from a memory card in Launcher X with about the same level of compatibility as Launcher Z - namely, he had to tap on the Part2 file to run it, but it worked fine. The one caveat he mentioned was that on exit it went back to the normal Launcher instead of Launcher X. I wish a developer of Launcher X would comment on this forum.

Also, to clarify a previous discussion:
When you purchase Aggression you get free software-only upgrades for life, and you get deep discounts on "deluxe package" upgrades which will be appearing in the fourth quarter.

Keep up the feature requests! Already the version 1.10 priority list is filling up! We have a lot of our own ideas but we listen to our customers to prioritize what to do first.

For fun, I tried underclocking Aggression to 33Mhz, using FastCPU! The game slows unbelievably. I find it a little easier to see what the AI opponents are doing, which can be helpful if you are trying to learn the AI strategies...otherwise, I find the game more enjoyable running at normal speed...

Dear all,

You can run Aggression from the memory stick using Y!Show ver 5.7. All you have to do is install both files into \palm\launcher . Then, use Y!Show to launch the program and voila, you can play aggression from the memory stick. Just a word of caution, you should have the equivalent amount of RAM space to launch the program. Hmm... I bet this should increase the sales for Y!Show launchers ;-)

Ok... I'm running YiShow 5.7 (finally got around to upgrading from v5.5) and I've just removed totally Aggression and then installed the two parts to \palm\launcher just like you said. I can see them there. I can even see the Aggression icon with the smaller memory stick icon on top of that from YiShow (in my games category). But when I try to run it, I get the same error I used to get:

"Cannot find part2.prc. (Cannot run directly from card.) Copy both files to the device and try again."

You sound like you're not getting this... so please enlighten me. :)

Just to add to the post I just made, I *can* run it from the stick... but only if I exit out of YiShow. This is the same way I ran it when I was running YiShow v5.5.

I believe you now. I did it in 7 turns yesterday and can almost do 12 consistently. C'mon blit we need some harder AI's!

On another note, I was playing with less com opponents and now when I try to run a game I have 2 light blue opponents and 2 yellow ones. I cannot get them to change back to their proper colours (green and purple). Any one else have this issue?
FYI I have a Clie SJ33 with no hacks installed.

I just wanted to post this in case there were Launcher X users out there wanting to play Aggression from a memory stick. Normally you have to load both parts of Aggression to the MS and click on part 2 to play the game. While this method requires you to click on part 2 to play the game from MS, if you use Power Run you can launch the game from Launcher X and there's only one icon (no more part 2 icon, although it's loaded on MS):D. I've been playing it like this for a while without any resets. The only "problem" is whenever I exit the game it goes back to Power Run  , from there I just tap my Home icon to go back to Launcher X.

Hi cjones,

Try the following :
1. Install both aggression part 1 & 2 onto the RAM.
2. Launch aggression from Y!Show & close the program.
3. Launch filez to move both files (aggression part 1 & 2) to the memory stick folder palm\launcher
4. Refresh Y!Show
5. Launch aggression from memory stick.

Clkoay - ignore my last post.... I somehow missed your reply to me. So I tried what you said exactly... I even downloaded FileZ that I didn't have before hand (because I would always just use YiShow to move programs around.... seemed simpler than installing something else to do it).

But when I got to step 5, I got the same error as I did before in trying to run it *inside* YiShow from the memory stick. So I'm going to hope that the Blitgames folks see this and add the testing of running Aggression from the memory stick vi YiShow to their list of stuff to test.

Glad it works for you though... :)

Clkoay - yup... v1.08. I'm playing from RAM. I just couldn't get the playing from the memory stick inside YiShow to work. I think at one point in my playing around I got it to work from the stick outside YiShow... but I haven't been able to recreate that so I'm starting to wonder if I imagined it. :)

Many thanks to all of our patience fans who have been waiting a long time for 1.09. A public statement on this is long overdue...

In June, we launched the sale of Aggression on PalmGear. Unexpectedly, Aggression became the #5 best selling game on PalmGear that month!

Being a small company, we were completely swamped with the amount of orders and the customer support. We handled it all, but as a result, development work on 1.09 virtually halted.

Additionally, all these new users hit us with many obscure third party software conflicts - and for the people that had these conflicts, no feature was more important than solving them. So our priorities became scattered.

WELL, YOU BETTER BELIEVE WE ARE DOING SOMETHING TO FIX THIS SITUATION AND FOCUS ON THE NEEDS OF OUR FANS.

This month (July) we halted marketing expansion and slowed our new orders down to a trickle so that we can finally get back into hard core development on 1.09. We are back to focusing on the core values of what is requested for 1.09 by the most people. We have also fairly well defined the 1.10 schedule as well.

We are hoping to begin beta testing at the end of this month <JULY 31> (really this time!) and anyone who already owns the game should feel free to email support if they'd like to help out in the beta test.

Getting back to our roots, we do not plan to do a massive sales expansion again until at least version 1.10 if not 1.11. Our priorities are firmly with the existing owners of Aggression.

We'd like to give general thanks to all our great customers who have written in creative suggestions and helped us fill out the development schedule. Your input means a lot to us.

This great info comes to us from Megan, who has been working with us for a long time trying to get Aggression compatibility with Z-Launcher:

The great news is that Z-Launcher version 3.50 now supports Palm OS 4.0 bundle bits! Which means it supports programs that use multiple files.

From the update:
"Here's the rule:
If the app is in /Palm/Launcher/ directory, only the main program will be copied. If the app is in the sub-directory of /Palm/Programs/ZLauncher/Apps/ directory, all files will be copied. Otherwise, only the specified app and its related databases will be copied.”

Megan found that she still needed to tap the Part2 file instead of the Part1 file, but no files needed to reside in RAM anymore.*

Now Z-Launcher has joined launchers like Megalauncher that are truly PalmOS4+ compatible. Write to the makers of Silver Screen and Launcher X and ask them to update their programs - eventually, it works. :)

- The BLiT Team

*This now replaces our previous advice, that the easiest way was to exit Z-Launcher first.

Presumed that the AI in ADV is not built in yet, because that was won in 120 moves ... and now, I will reconquer and re-knight the empire and await for reinforcement from the BliT empire to attempt to take back what I have crushed in 1.09!

Guys, this is extremely embarassing for us that 1.09 has been running so late. You have my sincerest apologies to all the fans on this forum. We are working very hard to get this update out the door.

The reason for the delay (this time) was that a great deal of opportunities have been presented to us that hinged on us putting an enormous amount of "non-feature" updates into the game. The result is that we have put far, far more "non-feature" updates into 1.09 than we had ever intended, and this has left us precious little time to put in the "feature" updates, which is what most of you really want. (besides the 6 updates to released under 1.08, we laready have 2 more released under the 1.09 beta program...)

This is also why a lot of you beta testers haven't been contacted yet. We currently have only been using the "non feature" beta testers, to test our "non feature" enhancements. They've been going quite well, and we're nearly done with them.

Look for the next major release in the beginning of October - we have to release *SOMETHING* because we have a ton of marketing hooked into it.

We had all the releases for Aggression pre-planned for this year, and we had originally been set to release 1.10 by the end of August and 1.12 in time for XMAS. If there "non-feature" committments can quiet down we may still get to 1.12 by XMAS... After all, we've already put in most of the "non feature" enhancements scjeduled out to 1.11...

However, the good news is that I think aside from some luxuries, most of you should be very happy and satified by the time we reach 1.10, so it will be less worrisome about how fast we can get to 1.12.

Once again, you all have my sincerest apologies.

BlitGames has released Aggression version 1.09 on Handango. This is a preview release that addresses several issues, such as, compatability with third party hardware and software, support for the UX-50 and Treo 600 has been added, and problems with being interrupted by other software (like alarms) has been fixed. Finally, a new one file installation is now possible, (no more having to load Part1 and Part2 ).

Well, if Blit is reading this, I have a request feature for their game. How about giving different personalities to the AI opponents. For example, one AI personality prefers to take a hold of the Australian continent while another prefers South America. Or an AI that prefers to blitz its way through a countries and AI that prefers to fortify only its borders. I've also noticed that you can reduce an AI's men at the borders down to 1 to 3 but it does not seem to re-"fortify" the weakened border.

Of course, all of this may already be in the works but in case it isn't, I just want to bring it out there. :)

Great game. Well worth its cost. :)

Hi,

Any T3 users that have successfully run 1.09 update 3 in Cinema mode? It appears to have completely hosed my ability to run Aggression on my T3 since trying to run the Cinema version.

All I get now is "Tungsten T3 owner: Please hit rotate button and return to portrait mode before running aggression" ... problem is ... I'm running in Portrait mode :( - same problem with slider open/shut.

I've tried un-installing using uninstall and then re-installing. Also tried to return to 1.09 update 2 cinema file which used to run fine and now I get the same problem.

I have the two T3 files installed (as always).

Basically in a unenviable position of not being able to run Aggression at all unless I use the Hires version with the slider closed.

Any ideas or similar experiences?

Thanks
Paul

"Beginning this Saturday, Aggression development will be
resuming with at least 50% capacity. We will be creating version 1.094,
which will focus on a significant AI update, as this is currently the
largest requested feature. Honestly, barring some unforseen events, I
really think this will be out by the end of June. We will then begin
work on 1.095, which is more of a compatibility update, but which will
add some more features.

These two versions are all we expect to get done in the current
Aggression "development window", which will last about 3 months."

Great to hear. Any updates on the current status?

I also have been playing for many months. I consistently beat 6 players at advanced settings and am looking for a greater challenge. I am eagerly waiting the update. Any ideas on the date?

I know all about procrastinating on a project, but this is pretty bad.

The AI is useless. All you need to do is bulk up all your armies in a single area, and the punk AI will ignore you. They won't even attack you. When you are properly built up, take over the world. I don't even need to take over a whole continent. Out of boredom, I invade on area a turn and get crazy boosts.

You publicly promised an update for years now, as an incentive for people to buy now.

Procrastination aside, that is pretty scumball behavior, ethically speaking. Either put up the update or annouce that development is dead and go to hell. (Is that rude? I been waiting for along time...you have this type of stuff coming to you.)

<<Sigh>> I have to agree. I've written to Blit many times, but honestly I think they are thinking Aggression is dead. I know for sure the game is bringing much money for them anymore, and they told me themselves, around the last time I posted what news I had, that they really think interest in the game had been in sharp decline for quite awhile. They also mentioned they were working on something new, but I haven't heard anything more about what that might be.

I really hope they update this game with better AI. Not to brag, but I bought the game a week ago and haven't lost yet. (That's on ADV, random, etc...IMO, the AI isn't cutthroat enough. At one point I was down to three countries with under three men in each and no one came in to wipe me out. If that was a risk game I would have been dead. Also, the AI is chicken if you have anything over 25 men in one country, I find. And it doesn't go on long marches into your territory, just short attacks of one or two countries...weak.)

Please, please, update this game with smarter AI!!!
