Do you folks have any experience with the folks who do RAM upgrades? Are they available for CLIES? - for the NZ90?
Thanks for the input.

There arn't any RAM upgrades out for the NZ90. The version of PalmOS5 on the NZ90 will not support anything above 16 meg. If such an upgrade came out, it would have to behave so that the unit saw the extra RAM as a VFS slot. I have not heard of any plans to do this.

from what i've heard that's pretty much impossible, because the palm os itself doesn't support any more than 16mb of ram, even trying to make it seem like something else for the OS than the ram onboard, major programming would be needed...

There are a few people, but think we need update to os 5.1 to get more... when that happens:

might do one...

dorianne, just ignore the comment... it wasn't helpful, and not even funny... novices have to try harder!

back to the subject, I think 16 megs is the adressable limit on os5, but I could be wrong...

You are correct Greg. OS5 is limited to 16 meg.

There was a group that had developed a 32 meg solution for OS4 devices. 16 meg would be recognized as RAM, but the second 16 meg was recognized by the OS as an external storage card through VFS. It could not be used as traditional RAM. I think they pulled this service back soon after it was offered. I forgot the reason, and I am not sure if they started doing it again. I regret I can't remember the name of the company doing it.

well, I think os5.1 is around the corner, but who knows if sony will update to it...

the upgrade would cost several hundred dollars to do, so keep your nz and upgrade when sony does... I think they will have a response to the 400 MHz palms...
