Its been quite some time since i last looked but I'm shocked that there are still no new devices since The T|X and LifeDrive. I had thought by now they would have gotten those linux and palmOS in one device or something. I'm actually thinking of what do I want for a future device I will own. Common tasks I do are take notes in the notepad, store data in database app, track finances (but am bad at remembering to do so), play free games that I downloaded, and track my hours from work.

Lacking features or software that doesn't cost me more than I want to spend for decent quality but I want to be able to do:

Quality PDF reader (not sure on this yet)

Quality bible reader that I can user friendly take bibles I already own in PC Study Bible 4 and use in it. I had tired myself out in wasted effort trying to use different converters for PalmBible+ resulting in mind wracking failures. OliveTree is nice software but they won't provide methods to people who already own electronic copies of bibles to transfer them for use on their reader.

I think probably ultimate device for me would be one that runs the same OS thats on my PC on the handheld. Then I could run the same software I like on my PC on my PDA. Is this even close to being reality yet?

I wonder if the Palm-as-we-know-it is dead. I went to Circuit City a few days ago to buy a new case for my Tungsten E2, since the flip cover broke. They had no Palm display anywhere. When I asked, they said they were now carrying the cell phones... I will be said if Palm disappears, because like you, I use a Bible reader, as well as eReader and PocketQuicken. Since I'm a mac user, I have no use for a Pocket PC. Disappointing.

I also noticed the palm newsgroups much less active than in the past, the new innovative Palm software is mainly geared towards the Treos.

Yeah, it's a shame, and the only good upgrade (hopefully it will do the stuff you requested as well), is the iPhone, and it is expensive!

Always thought I would end up with a Treo with high end features. You know, something with a large screen, 320x480, wifi, bluetooth, fast processor, etc.

Been waiting a long time now and just see the same old machine come out with minor tweaks.

Have a Zodiac 2 and a cell phone and getting tired of carrying both around.

Been looking over on the windows mobile side and seeing some very interesting devices. The HTC Advantage x7501 is looking like a killer machine. For me, the size of it is not an issue because it's not that much bigger than my Zodiac. Only drawback I saw was that you need to use an earpiece (wired or bluetooth) to use the phone functionality of it privately (otherwise it's like a speakerphone).

Where are the amazing Palm devices? Don't think it will be long before I'm saving up for the HTC machine.
