I inherited a dead T5 that apparently had a bad battery (wouldn't hold a charge away from power) but I thought it could be software so I tried to hard reset. Somewhere in the middle of the reset (after bringing up the PalmOne screen) it turned off and hasn't turned on yet. Does anyone have a clue what could be wrong and possible how to revive it? Or are there any parts I could keep that would worlk with my TX? At the very least it gave me another power cord, so I'm already benefitting. But I hateto think the thing will just be a brick.

This is the standard proceedure for resetting the charge system on yor Palm.

1) Put the unit on its charger and switch on the power.
2) While the unit is still charging, press the Reset button at the back.
3) Do not touch any buttons or anything just let it charge for 4 hours or preferably overnight.

Good Luck

All the best, woz of oz

Maybe it has a bad battery. Batteries can die in more modes than one. It could be shorted (or partially so) as opposed to high resistance, low capacity.

Try removing the battery and then powering it with the external power supply.
