Have the Targus Keyboard program that came from my Handspring originally that was loaded onto my Clie from the very first hotsync when I purchased it. I tried using the App Delete program in the Clie but it will not delete the program. It does not recognize the program as a program that can be deleted. Any way of taking the program out without doing a hard reset? Have too much information in the Clie to start over again. Thanks for any assistance on this.

Ok, very simple, you have to delete the application before it's loaded into the operating system. Once it's loaded, the operating system protects itself from crashing by locking the application.

By using the warm reset, it allows you to prevent the application from loading into the operating system. This way, it can be deleted without crashing the Clie.

You can do a warm reset, which is done by holding the page Up button while pushing in the reset button on the backside of the Clie with the pin from inside your stylus. This won't load anything so there will be no Virtual Graffiti area either. Hit Ctrl-H on the keyboard, go to the Clie Files(file manager), then you can delete the desired application. Afterwards, you then need to do a regular reset by using the little pin from inside your stylus to push the reset button in the backside of your Clie.

Disable any third party launchers first!

Larry,

Tried what you suggested and it still doesn't work. I only still receive the "Read Only File" message. The application was already loaded onto the Clie the first time because of me syncing the data from my Handspring originally. Any other suggestions to try? Thanks.

Larry,

Looks like I had to do the hard reset mode in order to do it. As long as I deleted the Targus Keyboard file in the Backup folder, I was able to not see the program anymore on my Clie. Thanks again for your help.
