I can understand that there are ways for someone to spam but isn't someone like this one:
http://www.1src.com/forums/showthread.php?t=121370
Very close to the definition?
What is another clue that that person spams is that there doesn't seem to be many non-spam comments or other issues that that particular example will cover. Then again the above example is straight out selling an accessory that a probable Treo user could use, suppose we allow Proporta and other manufacturers/sellers to straight out mention thru a disclaimer that they are going to profit from the sales would that make it less spamlike?
Basically I guess no newbie spam until reaching 78 comments?
If a certain company continually and regularly posts about their products then we let them know about it. Sometimes some members even complain about those kinds of posts no matter how big the company is.
Determining what is spam is usually easy but there are finer details that the moderators talk about before a decision is made.

Wow today a flood gate of deals are being offered. If it is their first post shouldn't they post a disclaimer or something at least instead of just pure advertisement?
So should the deals only be Sony related? If they have usable palm related assessories? What about our comments to the deals? Can we tell folks to go elsewhere or where other prices are located. Also buyer testimonies? Can we keep this thread alive and be more general or will we get labeled as spammers if we even cross the line that isn't clearly marked?
Maybe a "Buy/Sell" thread would be in order? That way, if anyone mass posts ads to the General thread again, their IP and account can simply be banned.
