Just curious if the speaker is an upgrade or the same old. Seems to me that a company like Sony would care about the audio components and upgrade.

About the same as the NX. Better speaker would mean bigger. Everyone is already b*tchn' about size being too big. If you want better sound, get the speaker cradle.

The NX has Seven holes where the speaker is the NZ has 21 holes that would lead me to believe the NZ either has 2 speakers or a speaker 3 times the size of the NX

Twenty-one holes, two speakers, three times the NX, makes no difference. To my ears, and I don't claim to be an audio expert, the NZ and NX internal speaker quality sound the same.

And how Exactly do you propose to do that when the cradle adapter is located in a compleetly diffrent location than the NR/NX/T/SL/SJ series??????

some people saw it in person at CES and got to play with it firsthand. Don't recall their posts mentioning anything specific to the speakers though

It certainly has room for a bigger speaker and there are a lot morespeaker holes in the backside.... I don't think speaker quality would've been tops on my mind at CES if had looked at it..

Sony is many things; but stupid ain't one of them. If they're listing the speaker cradle as an accessory for the NZ they've probably developed some sort of connector cable.

I don't consider speaker quality high on the list of PDA desirables. That's what decent earphones are for. I don't see how you can get a speaker with reasonable fidelity into the small configuration package of any PDA.

And that question works both ways, how would you know since the NZ hasn't been released yet?

I don't think the Speaker Cradle is going to work with the NZ. The NZ cradle interface is in the back about a quarter of the way down from the top. I don't know of any way the NZ could fit into the NX style Speaker Cradle, unless they are going to release another Speaker Cradle.

I don't think so. I've heard an NX through the Speaker Cradle and the quality surprised me. I've also heard the built in NZ speaker and was not impressed. As I said, very much like the NX built in speaker.

Oh, cool. I'm glad the Speaker Cradle actually sounds good.
