HELP! it's been 5 1/2 months since i bought my tx, and lately the digitizer will not be accurate past the bottom "touch here" target. i have to tap about 1/4 of an inch above the targets to be able to use the status bar at the bottom of the screen, and the 100-targeted digitizers don't even work! anyone (especially dmitry!) got any ideas?

It sounds like you are using PowerDigi are you?

I'm glad (and sad) that someone else is posting about this problem. I'm in precisely the same boat. . .but at the top end of the screen. I can't get the little "i" in most programs to activate with taps because I'd be tapping onto the dark case. . .but the error is only on a specific region of the screen in the upper right corner. . .most of the screen is dead on. Calibrating it at 100+ points doesn't help in that one area. . .

I have a similar issue in with a spot about 1cm in diameter near the bottom left part of my digitiser. PowerDigi does help a lot but it does not cure it completely. From what others have mentioned and what I experience, I suspect PowerDigi's resolution is not high enough. Increasing the overall resolution is not the answer, tapping 200 or 300 points would kill me. What PowerDigi needs is a 10 or 20 point general calibration for the whole screen followed by a say 20 to 50 point calibration of a much smaller user defined area. Is that even possible?? Dmitry??

Dmitry's not writing new apps/features for the PalmOS anymore; he's too busy keeping current ones updated and finishing the backlog of projects he has started but hasn't released... plus getting on with real life.

Off-Topic:

Supposedly Dmitry will be leaving the Palm OS to fend for themselves within the year. He might stick around for the new OS though..(even though he already knows all about it)

no, i use "corr" (screen corrector). what i want is a 320x480 digitizer, not 320x320 like ''corr!"

farewell dmitry! i'll miss you!

the rumors of my death are greatly exaggerated...

i am still alive, and develop at times [small small times that i have free]
lots of projects and very little time does this.
I'll get to it...

dmitrygr - thanks for the clarification. It's nice to know that one of PalmOs's best developers is still there for us

The other is incorporated within mySkin and myKbd, in the Options menu. I am a registered myKbd user, so I am not certain, but I think the calibration feature works even after the trial period expires, making it free. You might give that a try and see what it does for you.

it's good to hear your voice (see your post, anyway), dmitry! and to ferdferd, i'll check into this mykbd thing. also, dmitry; thanks for your help on friday, and what can you tell me about cobalt? i designed a series of myskin themes that i think might resemble cobalt, do you want them?

I had lived with screen drift for over a year before getting PowerDigi. Dead on. Only problem is, it constantly crashes my TX and, after some of the crashes anyway, the drift is back. A bit like russian roulette. Is it just me, or is this a regular problem? Dmitri hooked me up with his latest version, but it crashes every time (upon trying to exit). Suggestions.

(even with the crashes, i would recommend PowerDigi to anyone drifting through life)

Peace,

powerdigi used to crash me, too. then i tried reinstalling it, and it worked fine, as long as i don't use the up, down, left, or right keys to acknowledge the tap. try reinstalling it, and using the "home" key to acknowledge the tap. hope it works for ya!

A few htings that must be disabled for this app i have noticed are: myKbd (before you recal, load the OS skin up, and load yours back afterwards) and PalmRevolt must be 100% disabled for the app (no skin, don't force 16, don't skin the colors) and it works great.

Try deleting the PowerDiGiDB file before calibrating - this worked for me

I have had the same problem after 7 months of my TX. The top part of the screen became very un-responsive.
I arranged to send it back to Palm in the UK.
It came back within 7 days, with a new screen, perfect digitization and no more crashes. It almost seems that they upgraded the OS (5.4.9 - but I don't know what version it was before I sent it back) because everything is now so much better.

I'm a bit out of my realm but, if i delete the PowerDiGiDB file before calibrating, is PowerDiGi still there?

Also, i saw another string that addressed an inability to "uncache" PowerDigi. I don't know if i can uncache (or cache), as i don't what that means. Help for the ignorant?

Like the PokeymOn 383, I returned my Palm to Palm and got a new Palm. :) That fixed the digi problem. :) It still has a few months' warranty on it. FYI, I installed the TX2 ROM (see that other thread) right out of the box and it is AWESOME.
