I am getting LOTS of errors now. :( Everything has been working perfectly for months, but now with the new 4.1 update, I am getting errors like, "Disk Locked", Backup failed, and the NetFront Sync fails. I am really sad now. anyone help?

OK, so I turned off the backup coduit, and got the darn thing working again. For now at least. I also reinstalled iSync, and had to turn it on again, and turn off the Datebook, to-do list and all the other isyc dupicate palm conduits. It's working again, but it looks like Missing Sync may have to be updated to fix some of this stuff.

Welp, I am fully unable to upload anything to my MS card. :(

Well... I don't mean to state the obvious possibility... but have you checked if your memory stick is locked?
You know, that little switch that the memory stick itself has on it...

The NetFront thing I can confirm. See my post in the TG section as well. The fix was to use FileZ to set it's backup bit to the current time and HotSync manager stopped trying to back it up anyway.
Also, I did not re-install Missing Sync after removing it, and installing PD 4.0. It appears unnecessary for USB HOtSyncing with the TG50 now.
Everything else works beautifully, memory card installations and all.

I was having alot of the same problems syncing my nx-70v to my imac. But I uninstalled everything, deleted both preferences and support files, restarted then installed a fresh PD4.1 and then missing sync. Restarted and now everything works fine!

Has anyone besides me tried HotSyncing with 4.1 via USB WITHOUT MissingSYnc? It worked for me and my TG50. ;)

to jaydisc!
Do you sync with the Palm Desktop or with iCal and Adress Book from Apple?

Unbelievably I sync with Entourage!
It works incredibly well since I have to use Office 2000 at work so I can go back and forth from mac to pc to mac and everything syncs!

ok, before I upgrade to 4.1, and I'm not sure I can find a reason yet, will it sync with Entourage my G4 and my nr70v?
Some of these posts seem to suggest they no longer need missing sync. Anyone with a nr70v had this experience?

AMen, I use the apple solution, not Palm Desktop, although remember, the Apple solution, iSync, still relies on the HotSync Manager component of Palm Desktop.
Freescotland, I've only tested it with a TG50. I'm hoping people with other devices can test the support of USB Hotsyncing with Palm Desktop 4.1 with some other Clies WITHOUT using Missing Sync.
I have a tg50 and a powerbook 12".
I am able to do all the syncing except with memorystick...
Do I need missing sync to transfer files between memorystick and pb 12" ?
and best of all, can I use the "drop to handheld" feature of palm desktop 4.1 to drop files to my memorystick ?

Yes, Send to Handheld works although I'm unsure if it works for EVERY type of file. It appears to put everything in /Palm/Images/.
Also, I've discovered, if you have McFile open when you use Bluetooth File Exchange to send a non-Palm file to the Clie, McFile intercedes and then allows you to state WHERE on the Memory Stick you wish to store it... NEAT!
Also, sending MQV's and JPG's via BluetoothFileExchange works as well as the Clie immediately stores it on the Memory Stick in the proper locations. I would suspect WAV, MP3 and some other formats would work in this capacity too.

Missing Sync is required to MOUNT the memory stick as a standard drive in the Finder.
One other thing, in your Files to Install folder in your Palm users folder, there should be a folder named Memory Stick. Putting stuff directly in there is the same, if not better than using Send to Handheld, as it won't be converted which StH might do if it's a JPEG or WAV.
