I don't think it will play back in MediaLauncher/Clie Video Player, but I guess it will play back in TCPMP (which will give less battery life)

so maybe just bite the bullet and buy the vr100k? I'd like to be able to watch movies or tv programs.

If you have an EB40 or another way to get better battery life, go for it. And remember, you need MS Duo, not the regular MS.
