(Ok, I looked everywhere and didn't find a final, all in one help to my problem. My intention is to create this thread so afterwards it will be all in one place.)

The problem is as follows:
I have a Motorola V3i GSM phone, and a Sony Clie Nx70V/u handheld, with the Bluetooth MemoryStick PEGA-MSB1 installed.

As far as I can tell, drivers are up to date.

After a little bit of research, I finally got my clie and phone to "see" each other.

I solved the problem of the error: phone number is too long or contains invalid characters (0x1109) by adding a few "," (commas) before the phone number to dial, the phone and clie are paired.

Called the phone company and got the right parameters for username, password, apn (whathever that is), and phone number.

But the problem is this. When I go to the connect part, it lights ups the phone and I get an "Wait please", and after a short while I get an "UNKNOWN APPLICATION" on the cellphone.

My questions are:
1) What is and where do I have to use the "APN"?
2) What this unknown application error means?

Hope someone knows the answer.

Thanks
Federico

I didn't tried out connecting via BlueTooth, but I successfully connected my NX via infrared with my Siemens S55.

But: Both ways work the same way: IR and BT open a serial connection and send an ATZ command to the mobile.

This ATZ command string must be provided by your provider - and maybe the phone has some special commands, which must be inserted into the ATZ string.

Sorry, that I couldn't help you so much - all I did was to search my phone manual for such ATZ commands and just inserted the phone number of my provider. Then it worked.

Right now I'm looking into V3i documentation. As I seem to be doing everything right on my PDA. Will post a follow up later.
