Migrating From T665c to Z71

I just got a recertified Zire 71 for my daughter who had a Sony T665. Just a minor gripe, it is able to use a 2gb SD card, where my T|C can't (WTF), and it has a much better camera than the TH55 I used to use. However the main question, has anyone encountered any major issues migrating from the T665c to the Z71?

Apparently everything went well my Daughter loves her little blue marvel, but still wondering why her Z71 can take a 2gb SD card and my T|C can't? I thought the Z71 was the lower end of the product line from the T|C, and can anything be done to use any of her Z71's drivers to fix that issue on my T|C?

Palm half-assed either the SD driver or the file system driver when they made the T|3 and T|C.

As a result, neither can access more than ~1.5GB of data on and SD card, according to what others have found here... :(

Not sure if there is a fix...
