The last version of pTunes is not compatible with Sony Clies ...
If you want to play AAC or other formats, use TCPMP (with unofficial AAC plug-in), but no background play
If you want to play MP3, use the clie audio player + Clie Pet's AlbumSwap

Just use Clie Audio Player, you will get much better battery life and it just works better on Clies.
