Greetings!

Recently my TX died on me. So I chose to get a Clie TH55 to replace it. There are some kinks that I am still working out. I have a question regarding the use of categories. It appears that the old PIM Date Book that accompanies the TH55 does not use categories. Though I can hotsync the data between the PDA and the desktop, on the desktop, which uses categories in the date book, the items from the PDA are synced as unfiled by default. Can someone confirm this? Is there any way to update the PIMs so that this can be changed.

One additional related question: I use Datebk6. How is it that I can use categories for appointments in this third party application if the original PIMs do not use categories.

Well, I'm using the Palm (not Clie) Desktop v4.1.4 with my TH55 with no apparent problems.

Can you confirm that the Date Book PIM on your Clie does not have categories. This is my issue. Therefore, when I sync with PD 4.1.4, it defaults all of my Date Book items to "unfiled." So, the syncing of information is fine, but there are just no categories.

Correct. However, like you, I use DB6. I haven't tried to coordinate using the desktop cats with DB6 as I do amost all of my appt entry on the '55. I may look into it now, though.
