need to restore file

Help. I wish you can propose a tool that can boot itself and recover data. I erased boot.ini accidentally on my laptop and can t start it now. I wish to know is it possible to boot and restore file?

Hi, If you haven't fixed this yet, boot with your winxp cd and access the recovery console and run the following command

BOOTCFG /REBUILD

this will rebuild your boot.ini file and your system should boot right up! good luck!
