View Full Version : My WA Clock on my Clie has gone funny! How do you do a Hard Reset?

For some reason, I can't set the alarm in the WA Clock anymore, The 5 black "dots" on the top left, I've pressed it and it doesn't do anything, and a softreset doesn't work. So I am thinking of a HARD reset to see if it fixes it, how do I do that?

And the entire machine has felt slower, it has 3MB of RAM free. For the pass month is has only 1.2MB free and it was fine, why is it now so slow? Is it because the memory stick is full? I've taken the MS out and the clie is STILL slow.

Not sure from what you said. You don't talk about hacks and system software. Normally a soft reset will clear up any slowness from memory problems. You could have an app conflict. A warm reset may temporarily solve that, but it would be best to remember what you installed just before the problem arose. Perhaps start uninstalling things until the problem goes away. A hard reset will probably work, just keep track of what happens when you install stuff.

A hard reset requires holding the power button while pressing the reset pin in back. A question will come up and ask you to press page up to hard reset, anything else to soft reset. I have a reset primer on my website (see sig) that may help.

all I did was removed a chess game and lemmings, don't know why it's like that. Guess I'll need to reinstall all the stuff, oh well.

I can't do this hard reset thing, I've pressed the power button and then push in the pin, all that did was a soft reset.

EDIT, done it now !

From my primer:

Accomplish a hard reset by holding the power button while pushing the reset button, and continue holding the power button until the initial Palm OS screen comes up. The device will then ask you if you really want to do a hard reset. If so, push page up. Pushing anything else will perform a soft reset.

looked at the manual, only found soft reset. And what is your problem? the clie is fixed now, thanks to tanker_bob. Your post is kinda pointless 24 hours after the event.

That is weird, I find hard reset in the manual very easy. However, the only reason I think people should try searching before posting is that the problem could be solved with in a few minutes rather than a few hours or even days. Sorry for coming off rude, but then again I do like to be sarcastic~~~

no problem, it just that it sounded like you were having a go and I didn't get much sleep the night before. btw, what page is the hard reset ? T675 manual, I suppose it's the same one theT665.
