Anyone noticed this (http://www.corecodec.com/products.html) on CoreCodec's website? I can't find any info on it on the website, or in the forum. Thanks

What kind of info? Updates or what it is? There haven't been any updates in a while, but BetaPlayer is the open-source/free alternative to CorePlayer. An advanced TCPMP, if you will. Here's a link to their old forum (http://70.84.52.18/~admin9/forum/). I checked the old forum, and there isn't any specific info, but betaboy started a thread (http://70.84.52.18/corecodec.com/forum/index.php?topic=3565.0) on Nov 26th "warning" of the impending www.betaplayer.com site. 4 months later, the page is still static. I've given up on Core/Betaplayer. Bought it, like it, excited about the eventual updates, but seems like they always have too many projects going at once.
OT: do you know how matroska encoding works? I tried to mess around with that container a few years ago, but never got anywhere. And I haven't seen much from the website, either, in terms of guides and whatnot. I'd LOVE to have a mobile .ratdvd format, I actually enjoy DVD menus & extras.
Another bit of trivia: TCPMP was called BetaPlayer before they renamed it.

Gabor Kovacs originally wrote a program called Betaplayer for the PPC. He was picked up by the corecodec crew, and wrote TCPMP. Many betas of TCPMP were released, and then the full roadmap was announced for the future of the program, which would be renamed Coreplayer. Additionally, a separate version of the program, open-sourced, would be released under the name Betaplayer. This version has not yet been released, but will be in the next couple of months. They are currently focusing heavily on Coreplayer, and version 1.1 is just around the corner.
