Friends

I'll be moving to a new PC with MS Vista Business in a couple of weeks. As I check the threads here, and explore websites for Palm and Dataviz, I tremble! Any tips and tricks you have would be greatly appreciated.

My major apps:

MS Outlook 2003
Documents to Go ver. 9.000 (145)
Passwords Plus 1.006 (712)
Pocket Tunes Deluxe 4.0.1
PocketQuicken 5.1 (build 014)
Trip Deluxe 3.04
BackupMan 2.1

Thanks!
Steve

What handheld do you use? Palm's should work, but some CLIE's have problems with USB sync (not WiFi or bluetooth)

I have a TX.

My major concerns are with DTG, plus whatever else is out there that I haven't heard about, yet.

Documents to Go 8 synced fine for me, so 9 should too.

Dragonsgames, I can't wait to try! :)

Dataviz says ver. 9 won't work....

"Documents To Go versions 9.0 and lower do not currently support Windows Vista."

Perhaps I should post on the TX forum.

I re-installed Vista, and for some reason Documents to Go 8 doesn't sync anymore. There must be something I did to get it to work...

According to both Palm and Davaviz(DTG), Documents to Go will not sync with Vista...yet. ("The check is in the mail.")

:)

So DTG 8 did sync at first?

It did, but I have no clue how...

No, Vista doesn't come with Office 07, they are entirely separate products.

It should at least come with a trial subscription to Office Live! or whatever it's called...

On the other side of things... anyone tried out ReactOS (http://www.reactos.org/en/index.html) lately?

I'm running Vista Utlimate with Office 2007 that I downloaded and registered with a company key. I'm syncing a LifeDrive and T5 to Palm desktop. Drive mode works fine and is very fast now. Double-clicking a file to send it to the Palm and Quick Install do NOT work.

I don't think this is Microsoft's problem. Palm had a LONG TIME to work on before Vista's release. I've been watching their recommendations, too. The first? Email your programs to your Palm. The last? Buy Chapura!

I think their lackadaisical response is tantamount to admitting that they don't much care to support this version of Palm OS anymore. Since they're still selling Palm OS-based Treos, I think this is silly of them. Obviously, they think it's working well enough to get by for now.

IIRC, Palm does not own Palm Desktop, Access does.

Dick Tracy,

Didn't Palm buy that back in the past yr or so? or was that the OS?

I have a T3 (2 of 'em in fact) and I use DTG 9.00 (145) and it syncs fine with Vista Home Premium.
