Hi all,

I've not posted here for a long time - I've given myself a while to explore the wonderful TH55 I got from DanT (Many, many thanks Dan!!!)

A few questions have come up, the most pressing of which is how to mount the memory stick as a drive on my Mac. (Specs below.) When I connect the two, I can hotsync (and install some files on the MS - but not all types - this, too, is puzzling), but I can't get the MS to show up on my Mac's desktop. I run Data Import (as Missing Sync instructs), and I get a message on the TH55: "Check Connection with host". Nothing shows up on the Mac.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

(I'll post this on the Mark Space MissingSync forum as well, as it may be an issue with that app.)

Many thanks,
Michael

Same problem, except I am using the UX50... no solution from MarkSpace yet. They don't really seem to care

For now, your best solution is to use a memory card reader.

I've gone around and around with Mark/Space on this. They released a new version of the Missing Sync not long ago and it seems be buggier than usual. Still haven't fixed the Memory Stick problem either. The claim from tech support is:

The issue with the memory stick mounting is not a Missing Sync issue. It is strictly a Sony issue. Their Data Import application just doesn't support Intel Macs. There is nothing Mark/Space can do to change that.

I doubt that it will ever be fixed.

I use Card Reader from Mobile Stream to mount my memory stick, although recently I found that it doesn't work on an Intel based Mac. It does however work on my G3 macbook. After e-mailing support within the last few days, they have been able to duplicate the problem with their TH55 and Mac Mini and have responded that they are working on a fix.

Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

It is really a great app, and just around $10 or $12 (can't remember).

*If any of you use Card Reader and have an Intel Mac to connect it to, it might be of use to e-mail them to let there know there is more of a want for this than just me!
