I know it has audio out (cradle plays music through jack in the back) but does it also have video out??? i'm investigating & researching whether or not i would one day theoretically have output into svideo so i can watch my vids from my palm on my tv. Any ideas???

Hi, Smoothjordan,
I don't think so. For a while, somebody, maybe Margi Presenter, was outputting presentations over the SDIO slot in some Palms, but I've never heard of any sled or connector type device doing the same.
There was also, and still may be, a video-out adapter for the VGA Dell Axim X50V and X51V.
My 1.73 gHz Pentium M-equipped ThinkPad does only an adequate job of outputting S-video to my TV. A $30 consumer grade DVD player does much better.
This one might be a dream, Jordan, but without our dreams, what are we?

pin 3 = SPKR_R
pin 4 = SPKR_L
pin 13 = VBUS
pin 14 = VDOCK_RTN
pin 16 = VDOCK
Pins 13-16 might be video, signup as a developer it's free and download all of the documentation for free.

When the Athena devices first came out, there were some statements (or rumors) that it could support video out. In retrospect I think these may have meant that the Athena connector could support video out in the future. That is, that the Athena connector has been designed such that the standard could be expanded upon, and video out is one of the things that might be added in the future. But not now.
pin 3 = SPKR_R
pin 4 = SPKR_L
pin 13 = VBUS
pin 14 = VDOCK_RTN
pin 16 = VDOCK
Pins 13-16 might be video,Slightly confused, the number aren't following the standard, however maybe your source numbers the pins the other directory, but then then still do not fully align. However: VBUS is the USB power
VDOCK and VDOCK_RTN are the charging power and charging power return.V is voltage in these cases, not video. Sorry.
signup as a developer it's free and download all of the documentation for free.Actually you no longer need to sign up as a developer to download this document. Other documents you still do, but they have opened up this one.

I believe the processors do have support for video out. If someone does their research and is smart enough, can maybe see if it is possible to wire such a thing up.
I remember on the Zaurus it could theoretically be don and be true. The Axims do have video out.

A $30 consumer grade DVD player does much better.
Well the reason I ask is because I tend to travel a lot and would like to be able to watch my own movies and the like at hotels and relatives homes without having to carry all the junk, plus surfing on my 52" tv would be better than this 2.5" screen on my tx lol

I agree, get a GP2X. SD cards are super cheap and battery life is insane.
