I've found that while using my TX, depending on the application, I will choose to either use full screen grafitti or pop up the grafitti area. When I use the grafitti area, I turn off the full screen writing since it make the grafitti input more responsive.

I never use full screen writing when the grafitti area is up, and was wondering is there was a utility that would control the full screen writing setting based upon the state of the grafitti area.

Does such a thing exist? Maybe I'm the only one who thinks this way, but there are too many settings (4 possible combinations) for grafitti input. I'd sure like to have the settings default depending on the state of the grafitti area, and allow me to overide the full screen if necessary.

Any apps available that do this?

Curt.

There's only one app that does this automatically -
Display Manager (http://software.palminfocenter.com/product.asp?id=9354) It's an inexpensive shareware @$5. I personally use it on my TX and it's stable with most all applications. It has the ability to be disabled for any app that you like as well (ie: some games) as well as control your screen orientation and the ability to switch things on the fly with your 5-way button.

I do remember seeing a freeware application that allows you to control things via hard & 5-way buttons but you couldn't preset an app to always open the same way every time like you can with Display Mgr.

I downloaded the trial for Display Manager. Unfortunately it doesn't have any setting for controlling the "full screen write" settings. So isn't really what I'm looking for.

However, it is a very interseting app and might be work the $$$ ro register.

Thanks for the advice, my search continues.

:o Sorry I misunderstood your original question... The answer to that one is that I've never heard of an app that does what you want - sorry!

MobileWrite is an excellent utility for full screen writing when combined with Display Manager.

You can Google for a trial version.

You can set full screen writing on or off on an application-by-application basis with GrafAuto. It installs as a preferences panel. And it's free, so may be worth a look.

I don't think this is exactly what you asked for, but you if you have regular habits about how you use each application, you may be able to accomplish what you want by spending a bit of time configuring.

This would be a cool thing to add to EventLauncher! (react to the event, then do what YOU want)

Between display manager and GrafAuto I can sure get pretty close, but it is really a pain to manually adjust the setting for every application.

It just seems natural to me that I if bring up the grafitti area I plan to use it and would like to automatically turn off full screen. Then also the reverse being true, if I were to hide the grafitti area, enable full screen.

Maybe it's time I learn how to program for PalmOS :-)

Thanks,

Curt.
