Guys ...

Finding my NX quite handy for them ad-hoc spontaneous movie clips ... the ones least expected ... when that moment was just not predictable ... and only the Clie at hand to record in the absence of the digVid recorder ... I transport the files to desktop asap to clear space from my memory stick ... building up an archive and would like to view these on my laptop ... I am looking for suitable FREEWARE to accomplish this ... nothing particularly much more than this ... just play the MQV's. I am aware that Quicktime 6 is available for this ... does one need to pay for this? Are there any other apps I might use to view mqv files? URL's ... thanks

 ...

QT 6 player is free. I don't know of any other app at this time.

There is a QuickTime alternative... Try getting it from here: http://www.livy.myby.co.uk/klite.html Along with some other great free video applications.

Quicktime alternative is a better method to playback mqv files in my imho, I was able to playback with media player classic found in klitecodec suite (http://www.k-litecodecpack.com). It's performance is much better than quicktime player. I can easily playback in fullscreen, resize...etc. Cheers.

QT6 is free, if you rename your MQV files to MOV they play nicely in QT6.....

;) ;)

While we're on the subject, is there any way of turning them through 90 degrees to watch them on the PC if you've had to have the Clie at the wrong angle? It's not so easy to turn the PC monitor round as it is the Clie!!

After downloading and installing the K-Lite codecs, I can now view the MQV files on Media Player 9, but I cannot hear any sound. Is there something else I should do, or did I isntall something wrong?

Thanks for your help.
