I just got a copy of TomTom Navigator software directly from them for $99. But, I am having serious problems installing it on my NX70. This version comes with 1 software disk and 8 map disks covering the US and Canada. When I install the software, it fails. What is supposed to happen is that it downloads a couple of stubs which then get the actual software from .cab type files. It sets this up and I do the required hotsync to install the software. It installs the voice files and then complains that it can't create the directory TomTom and doesn't install the navigator files.
I noticed that if I only do the voice files and then rename the TomTom directory it created to something else, and then try the navigator files it then creates a new empty TomTom directory and then complains it can't create \PALM\Launcher.
It doesn't matter if I tell it to install to a memory stick or to a cf slot. It does not give me the option of installing directly to the nx70's memory.
Did anyone else have this problem and know how to get it to work? Does anyone know an alternate installation method?
I called TomTom about this and they refused to even try to help because the nx70 is not on their list of supported pda's.
Here is the error message....
OK Install
