My problem is I have Palm Tungsten T5 and it is normally connected to my emachine which had to go in for warranty work yesterday. I got everything else working on my second machine, but can't get the Tungsten to pick up email and see the internet using my Bluetooth adapter. I have a Zoom USB Bluetooth adapter. I have the Tungsten to the point where it connects to this second machine (I bought the second machine probably 5 years ago online from California, not a brand name machine, and it used to be the primary machine for my Palms back then). It shows up in my Bluetooth places on the desktop machine, I can use the Palm to connect but if I try to check the email depending on which connection I use I get different results neither will finish the mail checking. If I set it for Bluetooth to Lan it will go on okay as long as dial up networking is enabled, but the checking will just hang and it times out. If I set if for the name on the Desktop it will give me an instant time out message never getting the messages. If I disable dial up networking it never completes the connection, it goes to the signing on screen never getting to the established screen.
My operating system on the machine I am trying to make it work is Win 2000, on the emachine it is XP. It was working on the XP machine, but don't know what will happen if my XP needs to have the hard drive replaced. For now I would like to get it to work on the Win 2000 machine.
I was told on one of the other forums to get mrouter3installer.exe, but I have gone through dozens of results of searches for it and the link for it doesn't work. I don't know if this would solve my problem to have that file. It worked fine before my present predicament. I am wondering if buying another adapter would solve my problem?
Thanks for any help.

I didn't get any response on what to do here or on another forum, but I will try again. I ended up buying the TRENDNET TBW-10UB blue tooth USB adapter, but I am at almost the same point. The only difference is that now I can hotsync with the bluetooth. I have tried to set up the Bluetooth on the PC to allow ICS, but every time I do that I loose my cable connection to the internet. I am so lost, and I still don't have my machine back from warranty work which by the way lost the C:drive meaning I will have the same problem with that when it gets back. Can anyone see what is going on here?

Welcome to 1src and sorry for not replying to you before hand!
First use the drivers that came with your bluetooth adapter make sure those are installed first and dont use windows ones they are harder to use and pretty lame and I dont think that 2k really had any bluetooth drivers.
Basically get http://www.softick.com/ppp/ (with a 15 day trial limit but it is the easiest thing I have come across for windows I could help you with mrouter3 literally use google to find it it but its too complicated to quickly tell you who to do it) get the zip then install it.
Open it (from the start menu if it hasnt already after installing it then right click on the system tray on a palmtree icon then go to settings) go to the bluetooth tab and enable a virtual serial port (I think something like 5 would do the trick but it depends oon your bluetooth adaters software and drivers) click ok. Pair the palms together (through the bluetooth network connection wizard!) and ahve a go!

and seem to be in a circle. i. Palm says I need to get special virtual port software from the 'mfr of my bluetooth device'. ii. I have a Thinkpad with built-in BT and drivers, but no virtual port creator software. The Thinkpad help says I need to get such software from "the manufacturer of your bluetooth device". That would be PALM....back to step i. Typical Palm support!
I did get the TX to register with the Thinkpad, but they could not sync.
I uninstalled BT and allowed it to reinstall, so now I have one Bluetooth icon in Control Panel ("Bluetooth Devices), and a light blue BT icon in the system tray. Of course the pairing info between TX and Tpad is deleted as well, but that's not a concern.
I think the next thing I need to do is install said virtual port, redo pairing, then try to synch, but I would rather not BUY software to get my TX working - Palm should have provided whatever it needs.
What do I do now?
thanks!

Solved TX BT with Thinkpad issue:
Simple fix: D/L and e-install latest BT drivers from ibm/Lenovo NOT MS, then follow the install procedure *exactly*. There's a non-intuitive install needed to convice XP to use the useful driver rather than the useless MS generic BT sw. The required virtual com port is created by default by the ibm sw. I am not posting the exact procedure since it will vary according to your pc hardware, but in general a meticulous uninstall, update, reinstall may solve a similar issue if you have one.
