AvantGo on an NX

when i was using AvantGo on my ol' n750c - it cosumes too much memory, and with so little usable memory it my NX, i am really worried on how much would be left if i did install AvantGo - i have at least 10 different channels...

any ideas/tips/tricks on how to circumvent this?
with PowerRun, launcher shortcut, etc. work with AvantGo?

well it will not be more than just over 2mb (=AvantGo+ AGconnect + lib), unless you have payed at AvantGo for more space (8mb) ;)

2mb is the limitation for a free account!

All that needs to stay in RAM is the AG Conncet, the rest of Avantgo can go on the memory stick, do NOT use PowerRun on Avantgo beta 5. Use the card option in AG Connect. First make sure the MS has a name. Everything will hotsync to the MS, so it won't use much RAM at all.

It has the capability to store all your channles on the card. Saves a TON of space. You can also move the Avantgo app to the card, using a launcher, or whatever. . .

OK, I gotta ask, does Avantgo Beta Fatal for everyone else?

I am using the current beta on my NX-70V. It really works great. However, whenever I exit AvantGo by going to any other application, I get a fatal error with some line number.

Is it just me, or is everyone else seeing this? I just want to know if it is just my combination of software, including OKey, CF driver, Silkskin, etc. Not that it is necessarily any of those, but is it just my device?

No!

I don't use Silkskin, but I do have Okey and the CF driver. Avantgo works fine, but it's a tad slow running it from the MS.

OK, silly me. I had used JackFlash to move AvantGo to the Flash. I'll send email to AvantGo and let them know.

A couple of quick questions re: having Avantgo on the card:

1. Do I have to move the program to the card or will it automatically copy the new files there when I have it checked in AGConnect.

2. If I do have to first move the program....what is the location on the card it needs to be in? Launcher?

3. I assume I can move it to the CF or MS. Anyone notice any big speed issues on the CF?

After everything is setup and running, move the main app to the launcher folder. The rest of the db's go in their own folder created by the app. AG Connect stays in RAM and maybe a few small db's. When you set Avantgo to run from the card via the card option in AG Connect, do a hotsync and then compare those files in the Avantgo folder with those on the memory stick to the one's in RAM. Any dupes in RAM delete. After that everything will automatically go to the memory stick. I believe it only works to the MS. I have since deleted mine as it was faster to use my web browser.

I have Avantgo on MS Launcher folder and AGConnect in RAM - when I sync from AGConnect it works fine. When I try to sync/connect from Avantgo I get a fatal reset error. Did send details to Avantgo but no response as yet

n2ifp, why not use PowerRun, I have been using it without any problems.

I did try it with Powerrun but had problems - this way it all works except for the one issue

I found an unusual problem doing it this way. I copied the Avantgo.prc file to my MS and set the AGConnect option to the card, but when I synced, the info went to my CF instead of the MS. This isn't a huge problem, but one I can't figure out. If I unmount the CF card, it pulls it up fine of of the MS.

Okay, I know this isn't necessarily related to the MS discussion, but does anyone know why the resize font option was removed in the OS5 beta? The opening screen text is so small it is almost unreadable...
