So which do you prefer?
That's the real question!
Personnaly, I had both at the same time for awhile, but finally parted from the UX. Couldn't live with battery levels constantly under 50% as soon as I did some wifi... Boy, did I love the form factor!

TH55 is the best choice, but only the size ^^!
UX50 is Power eating Monster,
So for daily usage, TH55 is my first choice ^^!

th and ux share the same hardware so thay "eat" the same power.
its the battery that makes the diffrance.

Actually, despite the fact that the UX and TH55 are both HHE devices, the UX *does* consume far more power for some reason.
Even with the ?EB40? battery pack, the TH55 still out-lasts it by days!
I do wonder why... it's weird...

Yes, I work with someone that had a UX50 and he was constantly complaining about batt-life, and always had it plugged in all day. I just went about my business with my TH55 (unplugged) all day. ;)

Oh which one do I like better? Well I own the TH55 bluetooth versio and the UX50, but if I had to chose one it would be the TH55 by far. (I am actually auctioning off both of these on eBay at the momment)
The TH55 would last me 8 straight hours of listening to music, the UX50 would die on me in less then 2 hours of listening to music. Not like that mattered anyway, there was no way to change songs on the UX50 without pulling it out of my pocket, opening it up, taking off the hold function, pulling out the stylus, and tapping on a tiny "next" icon. The TH55 never had to be on hold battery isn't a factor and the two buttons on the back skip between songs.
The WiFi range on the TH55 is far far far far far better. I have a Netgear super g router (108 mpbs). With my PSP when I am in the living room (the router is in the bedroom) I get 95% reception. With the TH55 I get 85% reception. The UX50? 40% reception at best.
The bluetooth range of the TH55 is also much better. I could do a sync from several meters away, while the UX50 I was limited to about 10 feet from my computer.
In terms of looks, I'd have to say the UX50 would win, but with the cover on the TH55 is definitely no ugly duckling.
One thing no one can argue is the TH55 is just a far better machine. If the TH55 had a keyboard, it would not even be in discussion which Clie is better.
But what beats them all? JAmerican impressed me with the Samsung F700, once taking a look at it I was blown away. It reminds me of the VZ 90 only that a keyboard slides out. But I am not fond of carrying around a bigger device everywhere I go, I'd rather dish out the money for a VGN 180p (Known by its Japanese version of the VGN UX50) and carry it in a case to my University, its more functional but less portable, fine for me when I need it! But how does the following sound:
- Built in GPS Receiver (Global Positioning System)
- Built in FM radio
- Built in Wireless b/g
- Blue tooth 2.0
- Built in Edge and GPRS (Not to be confused with GPS)
- Track ball that is also an on screen mouse
- 2 Mega Pixel camera
Well I just ordered one of these from England.
All in one package: The O2 Orbit. It is also branded as the HTC Artemis and the MDA Compact III. The O2 Orbit version does look a lot better though.
