A nice presentation and interview of Andy Brown, Palm's CFO

You can grab the interview and presentation here:
http://www.veracast.com/webcasts/bas/tech07/id35103312.cfm

(i was able to launch the RealPlayer presentation only, Windows media just played music.)

Interesting points:
1)Complete shift from handhelds to mobile
2)Future tweaking the Garnet OS
3)New devices for the year (mentioning price points of $299, $199, and $99(!) )
4)New ODMs
5)No official comments on Linux (in response to question on future OS plans)
6)IPhone Comments

Well it looks like we are going to see teaks coming to Garnet in the near future along with at least several devices for the year.

I don't know what of Garnet's requires tweaking... He made it sound like the purchase was more about getting a 'lifetime' license to Garnet, so they don't have to re-up with ACCESS every few years, and for $40 million, it's quite a bargain regardless.

Here's the handheld/mobile breakdown throughout the years:

I dont know, to me it sounded like changes to the PalmOS:
"..so we can customize specifically for Palm and Palm Treo that user experience on that platform...the Palmsource transaction was important to us and there is alot of things that we can do on top of that platform.." (about 21 minutes into the interview)
