Can you help me please? My Clie Viewer Does Not "See" Images

The Clie PEG-NX80V/U Viewer no longer seems to "see". No images are captured. Existing images display correctly.

With the Viewer a black background with multicolored specks appears. If I put my finger over the lense, there is no difference in the image displayed on the screen.

I do not recall dropping the Clie. It used to work fine. I have reset the Clie numerous times and that has not resolved this problem. All other functions on the Clie work fine.

Can someone help me trouble shoot this problem? Any ideas on how to fix it?

I assume you are referring to the camera of your Clie. The camera is probably 'fried'. I have had the cameras fail on three NX-80's. I have read where some people believe the CCD chip fails and others that think there may be a broken connection. In any case, if you want your camera working, you have to have it repaired. I sent one of my NX-80's to Sony and the camera works like new. If the camera is not that important to you, the handheld is still great.
