Why won't it play?

I downloaded Simpson's episodes and they just go from the start to the end in like 5 sec and it has happened to me like 5 times each with a different episode

Happens with some movies. Dont know why.

I read in the video forum that this will happen with VBR encoded movies. I think if you reencode it with an app like Virtual Dub, a give it a constant bit-rate, it will convert to the NX format fine.
