Finally it has arrived to me and I love it so far (waiting for it to charge now).

So here comes the big question what apps etc to put on it?

First of all I have a new UWK keyboard as well, as I am wanting to use it at University this year and see how that goes with that and any apps you can recommend would be great (I have been following the College Thread (http://www.1src.com/forums/showthread.php?t=121421) and got a few from there ready to go).

But here is my list so far:

NVbackup (cheers Dr A. Pruss)
TCPMP (may get around to coreplayer soon since I have wifi)
Palm PDF
Plucker (hopefully it carries on working for me)
Diddlebug
SMBMate (yes version 1.0.a8)
FileZ (love this filemanager)
Unicmd (still good as a filemanager)
Yesterday
Netfront (love this!)
GoogleMaps (It has come to use to me)
KwikMaps
Kmeteo (good to kinda know what the weather is going to be esp that it lists my city)
Opera (still kinda like this one)
Brightnessfix (cheers Dmitry)
BlueBoard
Bluechat
GRXviewlite
Sharklinks
WatchM
PalmORB (a virtual crystal display form a pc)
uMMC (control winamp)
Maybe Webpro from my z72 (a pretty solid but slow browser)
Easy Calc (a decent calc with loads of scientific functions)
Chronmemo

May seem quite a bit but some of them are pretty small and even trying to easily keep my memory limit to 70 MB would be pretty easy. (also looking to get the wifi update If it isnt already on it fin out in a few hours!)

So add to the list please and I wouldn't mind paying for some apps, but as uni is starting I wont be able to get much and I'm surprised I managed to find the money to pay for my TX and the UWK, so suggest away and if it has a trial version I will try to have a go at it!

what? no games??? Quest over at www.redshift.hu its not free, but it is definately worth it if you consider the time it takes to play the game vs. the cost.

Space trader is free, and it will kill a few hours.

I realize you're going to school, but you'll gonna need something to help unwind yourself after exams! :)

I would also recommend agood dictionary for school. I personally use SlovoEd. I like that one because it works really well with Plucker's PPI for pop-up look-up while reading textbooks in Plucker and -this is the best part- you can add your own entries. I'm a Molecular Biology major and as you can imagine some of the terms used are not common to regular english dictionaries.

If your going to use ChronMemo, you should use clipexthack as well (with YAHM of course) to get full functionality. Other things you might consider:

Stability Test - to make sure that 3rd party apps are minimally compatible (I run it everytime I install a new app)
An ebook reader - I use ereader, but if I had it to do over I would use mobipocket exclusivley
Definitely a dictionary - Noah Pro is free and you can get Roget's Thesaurus along with it free
PDF reader - PalmPDF is the best
UDMH - needed to make PalmPDF work best (I have it set to show PalmPDF 17mb of RAM)
File Manager - FileZ is free, Resco Explorer is worth the price
Backup - Stay with NVBackup, but use a secondary backup app that can restore to a different device - like backupMan
games - for hourse of mind games a free version of Sudoku (http://www.scss.com.au/family/andrew/pdas/palm/myprogs/sudoku)
Outlining app - I use ShadowPlan 4.3.1, others recommend Bonsai
SplashID - a place to securely keep all your important numbers (SS, logins, serial#, licences, etc)
Palmpowerups apps - I believe that many of the apps at www.palmpowerups.com, Dmitry Grinberg's site, are either necessary or useful. I own most of them including UnCache, UDMH, Warpspeed, SysNfo, brightnessfix2, skinui 2.x, etc
Alex Pruss' apps - GSI (graffiti state indicator) is a must since the TX isn't consistent about displaying the shift indicator. I also use Alex's silence hack, mykbd, nvbackup, showbattery, to name a few
Uninstall Manager - very handy to keep you device clean

I use CrashPro on my TX and am very satisfied. I just wish that logging of soft resets was more extensive.

Grab either the EUAudioFix or Dmitry's hack from the other thread on here.
I use PalmFiction as my eBook reader.
Alex's battery indicator hack is still in development, but it's great!
Security Panel update
AutoOffExtender
Bird (if you want to poke around inside your files)
BlueJ
One of the card reader apps
UnCache or at least Dmitry's MemoryFix hack
Gratuity
Handedness (I like lefty view)
HomeWithFind
IBM Java VM
iSecur
ManufDate (so you can tell us when your TX was made)
Obfuscate (to hide stuff on the ROM you can't delete but don't want)
UDMH
PButton
Power48 (if you want an HP-style calculator)
PowerClip
pScore (if you play games like Scrabble, cards, etc. and want an easy way to track scores)
Resco Lock
ScrollBar5
TCPMP AVC and AAC plugins
Virtual Thumbboard (at least to try as a text input method)
Watchmaker

There are others, but that's the basics that haven't been mentioned.

I see you have a UWK, so maybe you don't care about other text input. I use and love Alex Pruss' myKbd app. It is not only a great alternative text input system, but you can also use it to skin your DIA and statusbar, as well as create macros, it incorporates a better digitizer, a home button for the statusbar bar with a mcphling like interface, and much more.

The other app I couldn't do without is 2PlayMe by metaview. I use it to schedule all kinds of things on my TX.

Oh yeah... I 2nd the recommendation for myKbd. That's what I mainly use to input text. It's a great option for those times when the UWK isn't practical ie: some of my lectures are in huge auditoriums instead of classrooms and they have those little bitty fold up ''desks'' that the UWK doesn't quite work well with... There is a slight learning curve for the input initially, but you'll soon be up to speed and you can make custom keyboards based on your usage.

PCQ: the trick with those "desks" is to always bring a textbook or clipboard to class :) I always brought a clipboard, as when I opened it, it became a decent sized desktop surface to put things on.

Thank you all very much for your time and help making the TX better and even the quirks of the TX are easily seen I love it esp the wifi (but yeah waiting till universe 3 comes out!).

I'll be trying these over the next few days :D
