I can't get NetFront to signon to my PC via bluetooth. It gives me the "signing on" dialog, and my PC shows a connection, but the signon times out before the TG-50 makes the connection.
Also, I can't add my PC to the "trusted devices" list in the bluetooth prefs menu, because it wants a password, and I have no friggin' clue what that is! I don't need a password to log on to my PC.
HELP!

password and passkey are not at all the same thing. with a BT passkey just type the same thing on your clie and your computer. it can be anything just as long as it is the same on both devices. you can use "22" or "buttmunch" so long as it is the same on both. hope this helps.

What kind of dongle art thou using? I've been looking at the no-name brand ones on eBay since I got my TG. They're tempting...but I don't know...them being no-name brand and all....

After you enter a key on the Clie, the Bluetooth icon in the system tray (by the clock on the task bar in Windows) should blink. Click on it and it will ask for the key.

That worked! Thanks - I was able to add my PC as a "trusted device". :D
Now I still can't get NetFront to connect. It gives me an error: "PPP Timeout" after trying to connect for 1 minute. Should I reset the timeout to longer than 1 minute, or should it normally connect in less time than that? I'm doing this only about 2 feet away from the dongle.

now, if you dont have it, you need mochaPPP. i couldnt make mine work with windows XP networking. ive attempted it several ways and mochaPPP is definately the easiest solution.

Thanks - I'll try that. I have Win XP Pro, and I haven't been able to get it to work with it either.

no need for a mocha. set ppp timeout to never on clie, you should see a dialog box come up when you attempt a connection bottom right of screen ("clie is attempting to access bt service on this pc" or something similar) click the BT tray icon and you det a dialog box asking permission check the "always allow this type of connection"
if this still fails.. then check you dont have fax software listening to the modem port.. this casued me tons of problems before i worked it out
