I think it is conceivable to think of upgrading the CPU of a NX series to higher clockspeed, isn't it? Well, it uses a Xscale 200 CPU, I could just 'plug' a 300 or 400 mHz into it, couldn't I?

It should be possible to do this by software. But there are some technical difficulties--Sony made the unit run in User mode, and one needs to switch to Supervisor mode in some way.

Foghead was working on it awhile back, but I haven't heard anything since.
Yes, I want my NX to be 300 Mhz!! :D
Why cant this be done? Isnt there software to do this for Pocket PC with the same CPU as the NX?
Imagine the look of the faces of Sony executives if someone releases an app like this for our NX's one day after the *new NX* with 300 MHz is announced.... *grin*

Dude, Scientist, that is so gay...anyways yeah foghead was working on it a while back, haven't heard from him since though
I wish someone would come up with a standard PDA motherboard, RAM, and expansion specs....that'd be nice to be able to switch out CPUs and such like a desktop...
Come one.. someone should know how to do this? Where is this fogheaded guy? =)
Could you explain to us how far you have come? When will it be released? ....today pleeease? ;)

Yep. But what I meant was why isnt he here. Last post a month ago.
Lets just hope he is very busy putting the finishing touch on this application.. :?
I want to underclock my NX to get better battery time to be able to play MP3's for a longer time, and I want my NX at 300 Mhz to play all these cool emulators ( like XCade, ScummVm, Phoinix, Liberty etc.) at a faster frame rate. :)
Please please please please please.....? :D
