Hello folks!

I'm in the process of buying a PEG-TG50 and when I talk to the Sony
staff they can't for sure say that it's fully compatible with OSX and it's
softwares. Sony keeps saying there's a 3rd party software...but they never
remember the name...I presume it's Missing Sync they are referring to?

Anyways...I'd like to know if I can syncronize the following in OSX:

Microsoft Outlook 2001 - with all it's functions such as Emails, Calendar,
Address book, to do list and so on.

Microsoft Entourage X with all it's functions...same as above

And will I be able to mount the Memory Stick on my desktop for movie and
image transfers?

Is there anything I really can't sync with OS 10.2.5?

Thanks

Here is the scoop for you!

On the sony machines with MP3 capability, you will need to buy "The Missing Sync" from Markspace. A nice piece of software with some nice features. Non MP3 machines will not need this piece.

Entourage and Entourage X can be used to sync contacts, memos, calendars, todo. I am not sure about email as I have not tried that.

Also, if you spend time in OSX, give the free Apple apps, iSync, iCalm and Address book to handle all of the sych functions (except memos). They are nice and look good.

You will be able to mount the Memory Stick using Missing Sync and drag and drop music, pictures, and whatever to the stick.

Enjoy

Hmmm according to Apple's compatibility list (http://www.apple.com/isync/devices.html) the PEG-TG50 is not one of the iSync compatible PDAs.

Sony Clie PEG-N610C**
Sony Clie PEG-NR7**
Sony Clie PEG-NR70V**
Sony Clie PEG-NX60**
Sony Clie PEG-S320**
Sony Clie PEG-S360**
Sony Clie PEG-SJ20**
Sony Clie PEG-SJ30**
Sony Clie PEG-SL10**
Sony Clie PEG-T415
Sony Clie PEG-T615C**
Sony Clie PEG-T665C**

I assume this list should be correct? or is it not?

It's just too new. I have a friend who uses it with iSync, and I use it with Entourage.

iSync works perfectly with my TG-50. Missing Sync seems to only be necessary for accessing the Memory Stick directly.

Missing Sync is required for USB HotSyncing and Memory Stick mounting. Bluetooth synchronization can be done without any additional software and any Palm OS device that can use HotSync can use iSync.
