40 bucks is cheap, I ordered mine from the Sony Service Centre for SGD78 which is like USD52. The box says made in Japan =)

I dunno if its my old earphones worn out or what but the new earphones that came with the remote actually have a deeper bass beat to it and all my MP3s sound better...
