Will Peg CC5 GPS from UK work in US?

Two questions, one is the GPS hardware, which I assume would work, with US satellites.

then the other is the software package, are there maps for Europe and N. America in each version; or would I have to get a copy of the US maps. Another question is if the maps are encoded in any way?

Yes. the Hardware will work anywhere. You will need the software and maps for the US. The CC5/US and CC5/EUR hardware and software packages are different. You will not be able to use the FM MP3 Transmitter program within the US software while installed in the CC5/EUR. The US stuff is not "encoded". Actually, the European Navman stuff is serial protected. So, if you cannot find the US s/w & maps send me an email or PM. I have them.

Thanks, I was actually out of town when the ebay.uk auction ended. I will have to keep on looking.

I would prefer to get the TH55 euro version with BT, and then a US CC5 gps
