I just installed a new battery in my Sony Clie TJ-35. On the old battery was a spring-like wire attached with some sticky tape. I don't know where or how to re-attach this wire to the new battery...and I am quessing this is why the new battery won't charge.
Can anyone help?

did you have to solder the wire in or was it a plug in battery. if you had to solder it then you may well have damaged the main board. i have one here that someone damaged while trying to replace a battery and it held charge until the battery was dead but wouldn't recharge.
I just won TJ35 from eBay UK. Check out this thread (http://www.1src.com/forums/showthread.php?t=123692). I'll take it apart when I get it and tell you what I know.
BTW, there is no such spring-like connector, just a white plug power connector at the end of the battery leads. Check out this TJ series battery replacement instruction (http://www.cliebattery.com/pl-383450install.html).
BTW, I have new the TJ series battery including the Y screwdriver together for $35 including shipping if anyone interested.

Welcome aboard the TJ Clie Club Dan T! The earlier TJ-25 was plagued by the backlighting problems, yet I bought a remanufactured TJ-25. Besides the quirky need to sometimes reset the clie when hotsyncing, I hate the right side button near the roller, the silver tends to wear due to my e-book/avantgo use.
Since you are the famous Dan T I could send my TJ-25/ TJ-35 installation CD to you free if you really need it. Hopefully there will be a repairman for my TJ when it gets old and feeble.....
Thanks for the offer. I'll keep that in mind.
I already bought 5 new batteries for TJ series since they are the same as UX series. Kill 2 birds with one stone, so to speak.
