I am a recent Treo 650 convert after having used a Clie NX80 for almost three years. The NX80 was my first Palm OS device and I managed to get pretty good using Grafitti 2 to input text. I recently installed Grafitti Anywhere on my Treo and although I haven't done any extensive input yet, it looks like it may do the job; especially since it now uses the Grafitti 2 strokes. The last time I used Grafitti Anywhere it used the Grafitti 1 stroke set which was confusing for me.

There are couple of products out there such as Tealscript that put grafitti back on the Treo, but I was wondering if there were some experienced Treo users that had some opinion about which product is best. Or should I stick with GA?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks! Well so far the Grafitti Anywhere works pretty well on my Treo. For me it's faster than the keyboard, so probably preferable for entering a lot of text.

BTW, It's bloody hot here in Perth at the moment. :)

I think, best is the original Graffity JOT.PRC
Unfortunately they (CIC - http://www.cic.com/) don't sell it anymore "standalone"
maybe you can get the file anywhere else

I use graffiti anywhere too. I find it somewhat annoying how before when writing, to do some things you would make a simple dot on the screen, now with graffiti anywhere, the dot is replaced with an angled stroke.

I would say your best option is Grafitti Anywhere. You can get it for free, just do a Google search. Another option that has worked well for me was NewPen.

Really though, once you get into using your Treo, there really is no point to it, between the keyboard and the 5-way nav and your thumb, you are set

I've used GA and Tealscript on my T650 (and Tealscript on my NX80). I like Tealscript because of how you can configure your strokes, program customized strokes and macros, and select apps where its on or off. I take a lot of notes in Office Professional's Word app. I can use full screen (no virtual grafitti area). I like viewing more of the document while working on it. Tealpoint will allow you to demo Tealscript before buying. Worth a look if you would spend money on such an app.

You can try Mobilewrite. It understands free handwriting, Graffiti 1 & 2. You can have a try to see if you like.

Thank you everyone for your input. I've been using my Treo now for several weeks and find I use a mixture of the keypad and Grafitti Anywhere. Generally using the keypad for SMS texting, and Grafitti Anywhere for longer text input. I found a Stowaway Bluetooth keyboard on eBay for a great price, so I'll have that for the longer pieces I do, and also note taking in meetings.

Mine works fine. You don't have that part of the screen mapped as a favourite to the phone app? I thought when I was reading about MobileWrite it could let you map the screen like the DIA area of 320*480 Palms. Other than that I don't know.
