Im' not a complete newbie, but I've never done any web clipping except using AvantGo...

In a few weeks, I'm going to be getting up early and going to work, and would like to have some news sites synced to my Clie to look at during downtime. I've seen people talk about iSilo and a couple other programs that do this...my question is, which is the easiest to set up for automatic downloading of sites, which gets the most link depth, and which is just overall the most user-friendly.

thanks

You should check out the forums at turcic.com (http://www.turcic.com/forums). While some people have been happy with iSilo, others Handstory, and for still others Plucker; we try and cover the range of both apps and sources available.

I'm quite pleased with Handstory! In fact I recently dumped Avantgo from my PDA. Here are some links to try out Handstory's clipping capabilities:

Just cut and paste the URL from your address line on your browser once you link to it.

For news, I like ABC News. Nice color photos with some of the news articles. Good depth. Also, AccuWeather is great and the radar and satelite graphics are stunning to the eye on my T665C!

Good luck!

I've been real happy with iSilo, but then I haven't yet tried HandStory:
