Hi, all,

My T-615C is running out of main memory, so, I was tried to move some existing to the memory stick (32MB) via MS-GATE program. it does not allow me to do that and keep prompting "CurrentFolder is access inhibit".

Any hints about that? Thanks in advance.

This is the frustrating thing about this.

If you use MS Import to look at the Memory Stick, you will see the PALM folder, it is are two more folders
LAUNCHER and PROGRAMS

Inside of the PROGRAMS folder is a fodler called MSFILES.

This is apparently the ONLY folder that MS Gate can copy things to, copy from, rename or delete (kinda silly).

I use Acid Image (Love it) and keep the files in a folder off of the root and it works well. However if I want to beem a file, I can't because it is in the \\CARD\PALM\PROGRAMS\MSFILES folder. I would keep the graphics in that folder but Acid Images uses the entire path to describe a file.

I am still looking for a good File Manager for the Palm.

That's the problem with MSGate. I removed it and replaced it with McFile. If you want a freeware you can get FileZ (http://www.palmgear.com/software/showsoftware.cfm?sid=75605620030109120040&prodID=9992) or older version of McFile (v.1.13) (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/nXtClieClub/files/-Memory%20Stick%20And%20File%20Managers/).

One caution is you need to be sure that you put the files into the right folder in your MS. Sometimes MSGate prevents you moving the files because of this reason. If you happen to open a wrong MS directory with MSGate and then try to move files from RAM to MS, the MSGate will try to put in that directory. One fix is to open the right MS directory first, then go to RAM (internal) and start moving the files. What RAM files are you trying to move anyway?

Because my Clie had too many stuff installed, and I just try free up some pictures which are udner PGPOCKET in main memory space to Memory Stick before I install the new app. I used MS-gate to do this.

But it does not work and keep displaying "Current folder is access inhibit", just wondering how to use this MS gate utility. Because from my understanding this Sony utility is used for this purpose...

If anyone have using MS Gate before, please feel free to share your experience, thanks in advance. :(

There is supposed to be a way to 'unlock' the folder, and it worked for me a few times- but not regularly.

Use FileZ- it is FAR better, even when MSGate DOES work!

I found how MS GATE works now ! Thanks everyone for help this out !

The problem is because of the folder that is currently using. I changed the current folder from root "/" to /PALM/LAUNCHER, and moved the pictures and applications from main memory to that folder, everythings are backed up now.

Only the folder "LAUNCHER" allows me to do this, other places like the root "/", folder "PROGRAMS" and "PALM does not allow me to do that and still display the error message "Current folder is access inhibit".

I can temporary remove the applications or pictures now from the main memory and install my new applications without problem.

Thanks again for all you guys/gals helps ! Cheers.

You don't need to use MSGate for moving your PGP images to MS. Use the Export/Import in PGPocket instead. The Export/Import button is on the bottom right corner of the screen, next to the trash can. It looks like a Palm icon.  Or you can tap the Menu, Image, Import/Export. The rest is self explanatory. The images will be in Palm/Programs/PictureGear.
