Amazingly... it wasn't. I got OK battery life with the backlight at half... still not very good battery life, though...

Well,
As soon as my paycheck comes in, it is out with the UX-50 and in with the VAIO UX 280P.
Too bad the UX-100 (or whatever) never made it.

Yes, UX is an amazing device... I didnt use it really, specially since i got my Treo i dont use it that often...
I was thinking of selling my UX50 with some extra accessories... or should i keep it? ;-)

I don't use mine that often, but it is so unique, that I keep it for it's novelty.
PS. Your avatar kinda freaks me out.

Have you seen the HTC's UMPC-Like Pocket PC over on Brighthand?

It really looks like the next model UX called Athena/Ameo
I didn't like the keyboard on 280P and the HTC's is suspect.

DG,
Try to resist the urge to mod this one :D
I still have my UX50s, although they are sitting in a drawer seldom used.

Yeah, the only flaw I found so far: it doesn't run Cobalt. ;)

me too! i actually find palm os very limiting. i already have an motorola mpx300 and an xda mini s so in a way i dont really need my clie anyway. Also it doesnt work properly with any of my wifi connections

I would transfer my PDA to Windows XP, but there is no way I would switch to Windows Mobile.

yea i know, i would much rather have full xp on a pda, but although wm sometimes crashes+goes a bit pycho i find it much more feature filled than palm

Has same battery life as UX. Figures, both have same name lol. The VGN-UX would be sick running Palm OS II or Windows Mobile.

UX50 is a lot more useful with the EB40! I wish I could do an internal battery mod though... the EB40 makes the UX a lot bigger. (not to mention not very good looking)
