I am unable to use the Sony PEG-TG50 v1.0 CD to install my Clie TG50 on my work laptop which uses Windows 2000. The Palm Desktop Installer generates a message saying the installscript engine on my Dell laptop is older than the version required to run the setup...install the latest version of ISScript.msi file. I used my internal support guy to update this file. He and I continue to receive the same message during setup, which then terminates the install program.
When I tried to update my Palm Desktop to the 4.1 version to use with my Palm Vx, I get the same error message. Does anyone have any solution to this WIN2000 problem?
I have emailed Sony, but I have no idea how long it will take to get a response (sent today). As I will forward any responses to my tech guy, don't worry about being too technical.
As a side-note, the TG-50 is installed on WIN 98 and ME machines and works very well. I am very happy with the unit. If I could only get it to utilize infrared or bluetooth connections with my SE 68i. They have been mated to each unit, but I can't send or receive SMS messages to the SE 68i on a regular basis...it has worked only one time via infrared and I don't know why.
