Something strange

Hallo, Experts

I have detect something strange in my new UX50. I have 32MB memory stick and after "Data import" , when I click "Disconnect " button , UX50 shows "Unknown Media". When I remove and put it again memory stick, it reads normal.

I repeating this step few times and after each disconnecting Ux50 shows "Unknown media".

Is it something strange or ?

I have a similar issue but it seems intermittent. I have also had occasions where simply starting Data Import suddenly causes the Memory Stick to fail to recognise. I have no idea what this is caused by but a few eject-re-inserts seems to fix it.

try to clean the connector on the MS, and inside the UX. it works for me.
encounter the same problem on one of my MS and cleaning the MS connector rectify the error

Ok, Cleaning inside UX50 ? Can you give me more details informtation.

usually it happend because one or both of these are installed:
1. you installed the driverless scsi library.
2. you installed fat32 patch.

try to remove one (or both) and check what happened.

if youre a beginner, you don't have any of them installed, but only for checking:
1. reboot in "safe mode" (reset while holding up key).
2. you wont have any graffiti, so press "ctrl+h" for home screen.
3. enter "filez" (get it if you dont have).
4. delete "fat32.prc" and "scsilibrary.prc" from ram (don't worry, you cant delete original vesion from rom).
5. soft reset (without any key pressed)

Press "ctrl" + h in home screen . but shows only categore
3. enter "filez" (get it if you dont have).
- Dd not find any "filez". I don't know what is it? Is it a programm or ?

4. delete "fat32.prc" and "scsilibrary.prc" from ram (don't worry, you cant delete original vesion from rom).
5. soft reset (without any key pressed)

filez is a file manager. get it from the freeware section. once its installed, find it under "unfiled" category.

Sorry again question .In File manager I did not find also any fat32.rpc file. In "Handheld" after that I have chosen "Application" , in the list there is no "FAT32" file or application.

PS : you know I have 2 memory stick 1 is normal stick with 32MB another is Memory Stick DUO HIGH SPEED (with adapter) 1GB. Unfortunately my UX50 could not read 1GB stick .

hmm... is that 1gb ms duo is sony branded black color hi-speed card?

Yeah. It is MagicGate stick. Main color is Black and text color is Yellow and Memory Stick PRO Duo has written special RED background. Under red background written "HIGH SPEED".
